No it's not.

Do not click on the video or hit the dislike. That hurts it more. I use a browser plugin to clean up youtube. It removes end cards, suggestions, sidebars, etc. That way youtube does not throw shit in my face that I do not want to see. 98 percent of that site can go fuck itself. I to not want that shit interrupting my comfy videos for gaming, gopros in crab traps, antique restoration, etc.

Opening videos and engaging with them with a dislike does the exact opposite of what you want.

There's something perversely satisfying is looking at somebody being so insufferably, smugly wrong and hypocritical. I can't wait for his videos on the Star Wars prequels, I already saw some of his arguments and they're just the most pedantic nonsense I've ever seen.

"Not clicking on the video or hitting the dislike hurts it more". The way you wrote it makes it sound like opening the video and disliking it hurts the video more, and you don't want that to happen.

There isn't, and as I said disliking it is still a positive action because you're adding to the interactions. You're giving it publicity either way, a dislike is only as damaging as the person who made the video perceives it to be.

Disliking them that way doesn't work. You need to watch X% of a video for the dislike to count. It stops people from "negative bombing" videos.
The algorithm is fucked up anyway where, even if you watch X% and dislike it, it'll still be recommended to everyone based on the number of interactions users have with it. So the more people click on it and the more people like or dislike it the further up the chain it goes.
The best thing to do is not click any videos from the channel or, if the channel is constantly clogging your recommendations, opt to not have the channel recommended.
I remember watching a video where the uploader begged people to like or dislike the video, he didn't mind which, entirely because he wanted the channel to grow and by liking or disliking it would achieve just that based on how the algorithms work. He went into real depth about it and his explanation was more interesting than what his video was about.
