This is clearly a software and development issue. I'm still fucking mad the developers thought this was an ok state to launch in to have their games available first on new platforms. I don't think this is a trend we'll see going forward, but it's made me pause to make sure.

These are all launch titles, which you can bet were built around the PS5, because they got the PS5 dev kits first. MS dev kits are retail units with a setting enabled.

Pure performance doesn't matter as much as consistent performance.

and xbox performed better in 2 out of the 3 modes available for that game, whilst ps5 only performed better in performance mode, and it isn't even clear what the resolution it's using is there (although it's *assumed* to be the same res for both platforms). RTX runs slightly better on xbox, and native 4k mode runs significantly better on xbox which locked 4k60 being easily achievable - by far the best way to play the damn game.

It's not really cope. People that bought an Xbox should expect their games to run better than they are. The hardware is either the same, or better than the PS5s, there is no reason for a 30% performance gap to exist without it being shoddy development or poorly implemented software.

It's not a question of 'is ps5 or xbox better', it's a question of 'are people that bought an Xbox getting the product quality that has been promised', and right now, it's a no. When that 'no' can be linked directly to the manpower spent on making the game work properly, people have a right to be pissed.
