anything whether its a small detail or a design choice, something that always makes you appreciate a game alittle bit more
for me, its full body awareness like seeing your lower chest + legs and seeing player shadows. even if the shadows arent 1:1 accurate i still love to see them
Whats your vidya fetish?

>shoot an ice blast
>hit yourself in the foot
>get frozen
dmomm was pure kino
For me it would probably be detailed gun animations
What's that? The crisp shadows are pure soul.
>not having soft shadows on
small time
Gore
If I can't see the damage I'm doing to an enemy, I drop the game pretty quickly.
ambient npc dialogue to make world feel more lived in
if a game has a good physics/ragdoll physics system I'll play the shit out of it no matter how bad it is in other areas
They look soft to me? Are you playing at 640x480 or something?
IAs talking to each other in games that are not rpgs, I think of Halo 2 when I say that
i'll buy anything with decent rope physics
Black Ops 3, bought it for zombies and dont regret it
glass physics

>Game has rain
capes/cloaks
If you can't see your body when you're looking down i'm not playing your game.
There's nothing better than giving a game a try, learning how it's played and then starting from scratch.
If an Enemy AI runs away when its too hurt to regroup. I have only seen this is a few games I can think of GTA4, Condemned and Fear.
I have a particular fondness for when games remix a victorious theme into a losing one by making it all jerky & distorted:

Not too common of a trope
>soft shadows
>in a game with shadow volumes
I thought only FEAR and Condemned were capable of multisampling shadow volumes? Riddick, Thief 3, Doom 3 and Invisible War had shadow volumes and no way to multisample them.
I miss Riddick. That game stole my life for a week when I got it for Xbox
>Shoot a lock
>It actually breaks
i like games with little girls in them
Oooh that mario party one, something about the theme just screams "You fucked up"
How many hours do you have in Half Life 2?
Name ten (10).
God were never fucking getting another Dark messiah are we ;__;
If a game has trains in it, I'm happy.
same, especially if it involves a level or sequence taking place on a moving train
What's your favourite train level? Mine is Blood's.
Trainwiz that you?
I liked the train level in Goldeneye.
>barrel of flammable liquid
>it's not red, instead it's actually labeled correctly
>punching it does not make it explode
>can't just pick it up and throw it like a cardboard box because it's full of gasoline and weighs more than a man
Playable furry characters
Nice water that reacts to the player
Clothing customisation
Different hairstyles
Dismemberment, ragdoll physics
I wonder when boomer shooter devs get big enough to copy such aesthetics. I miss these pure dark silhouette shadows for some reason.
Bring silent protagonists back. I don't want to hear my character say shit, I just want him to be badass.
when enemies gib real nice
I love how that gun is literally just called "Gun"
Female protagonists that use masculine insults like "suck my dick."
Only Ion Fury has sated this need.
when i can crank the FOV
For me it's when you shoot someone in the head or smash their head into the ground or with a bludgeon and it turns in hamburger. Hamburger head as I like to call it.
Mass stacking buffs/debuffs
Status effects actually mattering not SMT "everything is immune" bullshit
Stacking DoTs
yeah the "make the boss immune to every effect" shit in RPGs really pisses me off, it's mostly JRPGs, it's fine if you aren't able to sleep or stun the boss, but seriously you can't even poison them most of the time when their huge HP pool usually makes it barely effective.
