Not enough AA developers.
We are over relying on AAA games to pander to us. If development studios decided to reduce the production costs of a game they might not be as afraid of taking risks in experimentation. Then developers can focus on the gameplay they like and the aesthetics of a game while still having a higher budget than a solo indie dev.
We need something between multi-million dollar focus-tested titles and shoe-string budget experiments from hobbyists.

I have no problem with politics in games. I don't like the over saturation of Leftwing, cynical, woke identity politics and subversion of the masculine classical and heroic and it's universal presence in Western vidya today. The hero and his journey are mocked or parodied instead of celebrated. Interesting ideas and characters make way for crude diversity guidelines. Effeminate men being pushed around by lesbian women who know better is the norm. There can be no strong male characters (unless they are Marxists, gay or black)
