I've put over 1000 hours into borderlands games in the past 8 years and I still have no idea what they're about. I just put some music/podcast/netflix in my headphones and pass the time in them. Love the games but just the intro for the second game made me realize I'm in for some middle school reddit tier humor and I never gave it another chance.

Tps does suck in that regard, it forces you to stop and do nothing while some boring unfunny dialogue plays out, like the bl2 mine cart mission but worse. I still think it had the best playable characters though and double jump is fun

Probably Commando if solo. The Sentry turret can carry you through normal difficulty with the right talents.

I like the writing in Presequel more only because it honestly had the funniest and most endearing playable character.

Borderlands 2 writing is just as bad. Presequel has Sparks, but B2 had Tiny Tina.
