why are they doing this?
Puyo puyo
Spiiiiiin!
SPEEEN
are there any new modes confirmed in this? what I've seen so far really seems like the same thing with another coat of paint
it's wholesome you miserable fuck
Draco confirmed to be canonically very beautiful.
RPG mode, taken from Chronicles which never came west. It's the new basis of story mode. You select a team of three characters and build a magic meter to use their supers, and whoever drops to 0 HP first loses.
The games also greatly expanding the online system. Now there's multiple leagues, casual and ranked, with specific rulesets. If you just want to play Tetris or RPG or Puyo only those are viable categories, it'll be much better for competitive play than the original ever was.
All I want are Jay & Elle.
Every character from PPT's roster is back.
We also got two brand new characters, Carbuncle, and Ally thrown into the mix as well, so the roster is at 28 characters. DLC will also add characters as well.
Is there going to be dual audio this time?
what's the difference between the first and the sequel?
then there's literally no point in buying or replaying the first PPT now.
Whens Robotnik
More or less.
It feels less like the next numbered Puyo Puyo game and more like a deluxe version of Puyo Puyo Tetris with quality of life updates. Kinda the same thing Fever 2 and 20th anniversary did for their predecessors.
I guess the big draw for it is that it's coming out for the PS5 and Series X so if you want a good puzzle game on those platforms this is the best option.
Do her clothes break? This is important
I've always been interested in PPT, but I never got to buy the original one, do you guys think I should buy the sequel?
I've heard the two are pretty much the same game. DOn't know if thats true.
play puyo puyo vs 2 (its free) to decide if you like puyo enough
and play whatever free multiplayer tetris exists to decide if you like tetris enough
I love Tetris so in that front I know I'm gonna enjoy the game, that said, my experience in PuyoPuyo is pretty low, I just remember playing a little bit of Mean Beam Machine and thats it, I guess I'll give Puyo Puyo vs 2 a try, thx user.
Btw do you know any good tutorial or guides with the basics of the mechanics and some tips for Puyo Puyo?
New story mode.
Skill battle / RPG mode.
Online has multiple leagues (Puyo only, Tetris only, etc).
More characters.
New animations for all characters. (Different spells don't reuse animations like in the first PPT)
Puyo Nexus has a very thorough guide on chaining and where to start, though I'd dabble with the game a little bit to get a feel for it before you start reading guides in case it gets overwhelming. It's probably good to figure out the basics of the controls and two step chaining before you memorize patterns.
Also, if you have Switch Online or don't mind emulation check out Puyo Puyo 2. It's on the SNES and uses the standard ruleset for Puyo Puyo games, it's a good way to get a feel for its Player vs CPU gameplay. It's a little hard for a newcomer though since it's an arcade port and designed to be a quarter muncher.
i didnt learn from guides so i wouldnt know, i think guides on how to build GTR might be fine though
test
>puyo puyo vs tetris balance is still broken
>fusion still sucks monkey balls
>new mode seems gimmicky af
what's the point again of this game again?
Because the online will get rid of Puyo vs Tetris fuckery if you choose it.
Also because PPT1 is dead as hell unless you play during JP hours.
I see, thx anons, I guess I'll try Puyo Puyo 2,
but puyo puyo esports is already a thing and it's way cheaper
But user I want to play console Tetris and Tetris 99 doesn't cut it.
Also it will be nice to be a menu away from a few Puyo battles or Swap battles.
why does champions even exist again?
the game took a few hours to make im sure they wont mind killing it for puyo tetris 2
Swap is so fucking cool and fun
i look forward to playing swap again. its the most fun ive had on puyo tetris
GIVE ME THE BONES BACK
