Raytracing is just a gim-

Reminder that what you see here is not RT, but merely very basic Screen-space reflection, which can only re-draw and flip things that are visible on the screen.

Nope

Are you sure? Because your second webm looks correct but low quality. The top one suffers from every problem SSR suffers from and RT shouldn't. So even if it is RT, something is bugging out.

Raytracing doesn't make the video game more fun. The gameplay isn't improved in any way so it's worthless to me.

its the guys own implementation of pathtracing. not nvidias ray tracing tech.

stock SSR.
software (?) implementation of RT with short capture bubble size / very bad render-2-texture projection.

Masa-san~

This actually looks terrible. I have a card that does RT just fine but jesus this is one of the worst examples yet

this games destruction feels dissapointing to me. it doesnt simulate load bearing so you can have a structure held up by a single plank. having a structure fall on another structure just has them collide with no damage to either

explain the per pixel lighting then.

The reason why it looks low quality is because it's a voxel game, and you're seeing the pixel voxels move around

This. I actually work with voxels for a living and that's exactly what's happening

RT will be worth a shit years from now or it will be abandoned like a lot of gimmick tech. It has very little gameplay implementation, only really useful for puzzle segments/games and perhaps stealth to see enemies reflected while you're around a corner.

I could see it improving the gameplay in FPS games, but that's about it.

Whats with all the static?

side effect of raytracing on current hardware

>explain the per pixel lighting then.
You mean the default shading method that's been a thing since late 1990s? Even the OG Xbox and GC supported it.

THIS IS NOT RTX YOU BUFFOONS IT'S A CUSTOM OPTIMIZED RAYTRACING ENGINE THAT RUNS ON ALL GPUS

It will get pushed because it saves developers the work of having to place lighting manually

>retard doesn't know what SSR is
go look it up, it's not ray tracing. today you'll learn something

Jesus Christ, I really hate Nvidia for making the public think that ray tracing is only used for reflections...

pretty sure its a resolution thing
this looks like i dont know a quarter of full resolution

this

I guess raytracing really is a meme then huh

>Zero gameplay implementation
>40% fps drop
Only reason why they're pushing this gimmick is because lazy tranny millennials devs want their jobs to be easier.

omg reflections that aren't screenspace?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? how innovative

Ray tracing isn't just for mirrors you asperger patient

It does simulate load bearing, the developer literally told people that buildings don't fall like that for "gameplay balance" reasons so that objectives don't complete themselves.
There are a few objects in the game that don't have that stuff and they fall over just fine by just destroying parts of it.
Shouldn't you be hating the mouthbreathing retards of nu-Zig Forums instead for being retards?
