Some are sweet and relevant to the plot, like Jaal in Mas Effect Andromeda, Ketill in Expedition Vikings.

I dunno, some romances are sweet and add to the plot. I liked Morrigan character deveolpment and an entire DLC about the protagonist trying to find her. Liara being so obsessed with Shepard she finds his body and helps with bringing him back was sweet too.
