There's a certain magic to the balancing of it, and how difficult it was, making progress felt so rewarding. I remember the first time I made it to Mom's Heart I my own heart was beating so fucking fast, I had to take a break before going into the fight because I could barely feel my fingers.
I had such a great time playing it. I certainly don't miss the visuals, or how absolutely shit it ran, but I do miss the simplicity of it, and the balance of the items. Rebirth +DLC while still a great time is kind of a cake walk, maybe it's just me being jaded since I got pretty good at the game but it captured that same feeling the original did. I do love Rebirth though, and I'll never go back to the original, but I do love the memories.

I mean the ending with the wigs shows that all of the characters in Isaac are Isaac, yeah, but if you didn't know that from the start you're pretty obtuse, the narrator only ever mentions Isaac going into the basement.

it pretty difficult but if you get lucky and you find either host hat or pyromaniac you'll be immune to it
from what i remember i didn't find those but my damage was out of control so i killed most things before the feet had time to do anything

It's basically lore about Bumbo, Dad's Lost Coin, and how The Binding of Isaac came to be, since it's a prequel.
