I hope you are AR45+. If I'm not mistaken, there's a 30% chance to drop at least one 5* artifact at 40+, and a 100% chance at 45+. Prior to at least 40 artifact domains are pretty much worthless, though I suppose you still need some for your main character just to survive up to 45.

I got to 45 in Gladiator/Exile/Instructor/Berserker and the like. As long as you level them, which the journal encourages you to do, it's fine.
