Was it a good DLC?
Was it a good DLC?
Great bosses, everything else was a bit lackluster
Gael is kino
Meh like the rest of the game.
no, both ds3 dlcs are garbage.
Yes, unlike AoA
I can't beat the asshole brothers so I never found out :(
yes, good sendoff for the series
You got some great weapons, some amazing bosses, solid environments, a couple great set pieces, Gael is an incredible boss fight, one of the best there is, spells were weak, some enemies were weak, "hand it over, that thing, your DARK SOULᵀᴹ"
Overall, amazing
Dark Souls 3's actual level maps all suffer from your damage output feeling like shit and enemies having arbitrary patterns that play on player movement meta. There's very few fun level encounters in any of DS3's lategame/DLCs, even when you're clutching through the entire map without a hit it's just a slog.
Bosses were good.
>more piss filter
>more swamps
>that narrow staircase just filled with fat fucks you have to plunge attack over and over
Honestly pretty shit. I found the bosses to be mediocre/spongey as well. Dragon is just running back and forth as it repeats its punishable pattern and you have no reason to stand close to Gael so most of the fight is just watching him sperg the fuck out then running in to smack him.
No.
>another fucking swamp
>the city was more like a few connected hallways, too small
>first boss was shit
>second boss was shit
>third boss was ok
Ariandel was unironically better.
Like everyone else said, pretty amazing bosses, great gear, kino music, overall a nice send off to the franchise. Just wish there was an ending cutscene to really finalize it all.
>third boss was ok
cope cringe reddit
fuck the priest enemies
fuck them
getting then to a sliver just for them to turtle and full heal is fucking infuriating
Just kick em dude.
angels a kino
falling without dmg a kino
dregheap location references a kino
city with buncha flowers a kino
patches a kino
shin godzilla a kino
ringed kniggers a kino
old monk a kino
filianore a kino
red artorias in ash desert a kino
only good thing was the bosses lolz
it really depends on your skill level and what you're looking for. If you're expecting something like the crown DLCs from 2 you're going to be massively disappointed. Hell, even if you're expecting something like AotA you're going to be let down.
>The pros:
-some of the new added items and weapons are cool as hell
-Gael overall is a pretty fun fight*
-added some interesting lore
>The mixed:
-the bosses tend to only be fun at high skill levels. If you're an average player you will get stuck on them and become very frustrated as most are not like typical souls style bosses
-Gael (similar to freide) has a very over the top shounen bullshit anime feel to him. It looks cool and can be fun when you are higher skill level, but also can feel like frustrating bullshit because its not really similar to most souls bosses.
-demon prince and midir are similar in the sense that they will be misrable until/unless you get very good and completely learn their patterns
>the cons
-The area's are complete trash overall. Dreg heap is ugly and annoying. TRC is essentially enemy spam and very linear.
-most new enemies are honestly a pain in the ass to fight. They aren't particularly hard, just tedious as fuck to fight.
-most bosses and enemies can oneshot you or come near to it at lower levels. Basically everything hits like a fucking truck just for the sake of hitting hard.
-some of the new weapons are pretty bullshit.
-enemy spam
-some of the new lore is bullshit.
-didnt answer existing questions we had to the lore and complicated some of it.
Thats the quick rundown. Honestly i'd say it was an OKAY dlc. I wouldn't say it was good, but i wouldnt say it was terrible. TRC is a pretty solid 5/10.
the fuck?
there's a kick move?
Great environments and it had one good boss (Gael).
Sadly it was the worst designed DLC ever
>Run and hide from an angel
>Run and hide from two angels in a swamp.
>Run and hide from literally 100 archers.
>Run and hide from literally 100 archers in a swamp.
>Run and hide from a dragon.
>The end.
>the bosses tend to only be fun at high skill levels
no shit
>If you're an average player...
stop right there and git gud
>but also can feel like frustrating bullshit because its not really similar to most souls bosses
see above
>demon prince and midir are similar in the sense
SEE FUCKING ABOVE, demon prince is kino
>The area's are complete trash overall
cope seethe
>Basically everything hits like a fucking truck just for the sake of hitting hard
NIGGER WHAT GAME DO YOU THINK YOU'RE PLAYING?
>some of the new weapons are pretty bullshit
thats a good thing
>didnt answer existing questions we had to the lore and complicated some of it
fuck off and fuck you
The REAL quick rundown is that you're a fucking retard
Can you even get into that tower??
yes, kino setting, cool bosses, good sendoff.
Pretty sure it's the tower with the angel's egg girl, unless you're talking about the one that's way off in the distance then no.
fpbp
i really disliked the envionments and settings but the bosses were amazing
yeah u can tell miyazaki was burned out with souls and just wanted to get it out there asap
enjoyed it more than old hunters desu
Isn't that the entire message of both DLCs, after all? That the world is rotting and needs to be put in it's 'age of dark' and clinging onto a fading flame isn't doing it any good.
That's pretty much the message of every Souls game post Demons.
But DS3 was full "this place is fucking tired and old just let it die already jesus christ".
The actual city was cool though, love that giant that just summons an army to fuck you up
Best DLC in the series. Bloodtrannies are mad about it because it does everything better TOH tries to do.
DS3 is basically a post apocalyptic world. There are no civilizations left and its all Hollows.
The old hunters was a much better DLC, let's not kid ourselves.
It was cool in concept but the bulk of the actual content is fucking swamps
Not at all.
yes it was kino
BB DLC > DkS1 DLC > DkS3 DLC > DkS2 DLC
the bosses are not like the bosses in the rest of the series. You can be good in the sense that you can beat pretty much all of the bosses in 1-2 attempts in the base game just fine, but get completely bodied the second you walk into the DLC. I mean average souls player capable of beating the games, not the average video games player.
I'll use demon prince as a perfect example (and i have grown to love that fight) of frustrating bullshit. Suddenly out of nowhere you're stuck with two hyper aggressive, large, unparriable bosses with ranged attacks and no cover. Until you get a 100% feel for this fight and learn how to manage them specifically you will pretty much always die or run out of healing in phase on of the fight. Often times from a bullshit ranged attack that you can't even see. Is it unfair - no, not after you become intimately aware of how to fight them. The problem is pretty much gael is the only boss in this DLC you can really go into and figure it out as you go. Most souls bosses can be figured out and learned in the fight itself. To solo DP/Midir you have to learn all their quirks and moveset to even stand a chance. That's what i mean by frustrating bullshit. I also still will maintin that midir is fucking cancer (before you say gitgud i can beat him in low level runs with no armor. Hes not a good fight, hes just tedious).
>The area's are complete trash overall
its not seething if its true. Dreg heap is bland as fuck. It relies 90% of its HAHA ANGLES GO PEWPEWPEWPEWPEWPEWPEWPEW gimmick, shit endlessly coming out of the ash, and poison. TRC itself relies on enemy spam, hidden enemies, and curse. Sorry you are too much of a brainlet to see bad map design, especially when compared to the rest of the game.
(cont)
>Basically everything hits like a fucking truck just for the sake of hitting hard
>NIGGER WHAT GAME DO YOU THINK YOU'RE PLAYING?
dark souls. Most enemies hit moderately or are only really threatening in groups. most enemies in TRC can destroy 90%+ of your hp in under 2 seconds. This is pretty fucking stupid when you have them all fucking spammed and stacked ontop of eachother.
>some of the new weapons are pretty bullshit
>thats a good thing
just because you read a kotaku article that said twin giant anime swords (AND THATS A GOOD THING) doesn't make it so. Sure they're kinda fun to use for a little bit, but they completely feel out of place in a souls game (not that DS3 is much of a souls game to begin with). If you want your anime flashy bullshit take it somewhere else.
>didnt answer existing questions we had to the lore and complicated some of it
>fuck off and fuck you
Just because you're too retarded to understand and enjoy the lore and atmosphere the game sets up doesn't mean everyone is. Go play fucking fallout and follow your quest markers before trying to talk with people who actually enjoy playing games.
how does it feel to be objectively retarded?
ds1 dlc is unironically not that good
it just gets dickrode because it has artorias and people pvp in the zone right after him
