For all you guys craving for sonic news in this drought I’ve got some news for you. I’ve gotten a bunch of new information about the upcoming sonic game in 2021 gathered by a leaker that talked with some higher ups at sega. Let’s start
Title >Sonic And The Phantom Dimension
Story info >The story directly takes place a few months after sonic forces and eggman has disappeared. >eggman has been transported into a new dimension made by the destruction of the ruby. >infinite apparently dies but is reduced to a ghost/phantom like state >classic eggman after the true ending of sonic mania plus gets transported to this dimension and villains team up to attack both classic and modern Sonic’s world’s.
Gameplay info >sonic plays just like he does in forces but is slightly more closer to how he was in colors. The trick system returns >the avatar and blaze are playable characters again but exclusive to modern Sonic’s dimension >classic sonic along with classic tails and knuckles are now playable but exclusive to only there dimensions.
old stages are returning once again but some are exclusive to a certain dimensions. Classic and modern get 10 stages each with 2 acts.
Classic >angel island, titanium gadget zone. Modern > sunshine heights, The rest of the stages I have yet to find out on.

shadow the hedgehog might be the most hated here, but the concept for that game amazing with multiple branch storyline lead to multiple ending which extend the replay value of the game. it would be outstanding if SEGA could adapt that concept once more into sonic games but with better gameplay

I don't want this team to make a new Adventure game out of the blue. It'll be a disaster. I'll only trepidatiously accept it if they remake Adventure 1 or 2 first to familiarize themselves. Making them simultaneously isn't good enough either, they have to finish the remake first.

Don't try to give these people hope; the current situation at SEGA is so fucked that the anniversary title might not even happen and if it does, it'll be rushed out in 8-10 months like Forces was after the mandates.
Let me tell you where you screwed up -setting it after forces team sonic racing already takes place after forces -using Infinite again Sega already said he and Buddy will never appear ever again -using mania sega only uses mania to promote shit now they have no interest in actually using the game again thinking sega gives a shit about classic knuckles or blaze enough to make them playable characters
And finally, thinking continuity matters anymore when Sega even said they created Dodonpa specifically so they could make any story they want without caring about what happens in prior games. It's also why the casts personalities are so one and done now. They've gone full lazy and besides, Sega is bleeding money, they're going bankrupt, they flat out can't handle making another sonic game.

I don't understand how people expect any new anniversary game to be another compilation celebration of the series, Generations worked because they'd never done it before and they had 20 years of Sonic games to pull from In the last 10 years you've only had Lost World, Mania and Forces and those last two were already reusing everything they could from the old games

SEGA love shadow way too much. They’re always shoving him in everything they possibly can. They made the whole plot of sonic forces evolve around him and made him playable.
There’s no way they’d not make him playable and then make knuckles and tails playable.
