Anyone else?

I wouldn't say hate, but it feels like a completely different game to the first two. It's a reboot, not a sequel.

I loved TW1, absolutely loathe TW2, and was left just "meh" after 3.

Me too, except I noticed with 2 how the combat got even WORSE and how it was trying to appeal to a mainstream audience

TW3 is basically McDonalds

yeah 3 is just soulless, they abandoned storytelling for muh openworld dogshit

i used to like TW3 but after replaying the series and trying to replay it i got bored quick
every side character is so overly theatrical

Witcher 1 feels like shitty fanfiction
At least they actually had resources on W2/W3 so those feel like high budget fan fiction

They are all overrated
That being said, The WItcher 1 had the most soul.
The Witcher 2's story was simply boring and pretending it's something cool by shoving in tons of politics
The Witcher 3 is just a copy+paste Ubisoft game

Witcher 2 Is easily the weakest of the three

Each next game in the series progressively downgraded everything i liked about the previous entry
It's funny that they ditched stance-based W1 combat instead of improving it, then after a fucking decade Nioh took it and made the best ARPG combat system out of it.

2 has probably the best story. Every chapter is full of tension.

Yup, I'm here.
I consider TW2 the real masterpiece of CDPR.

This. I've played through both of the first two a few times but couldn't finish the third. The first half was pretty great, but the last half just ran out of steam.

most of Zig Forums preferred TW2 about a decade ago, dunno why everyone hates it now

but witcher 2 is the worst
i installed it yesterday and couldnt finish prologue because how boring and clunky it was
today i finished prologue and played 2 hours and holy shit this game is much more worse than i remembered it
when i first played witcher 2 years ago i kinda liked it but now i realise how retarded i was to like it

why do you hate witcher 3 tho?
literally everything Witcher2 did good was amplified in Witcher3

TW 2 is far the shittiest gameplaywise but it's full of soul and some great attention to detail in it's writing. 3 is more polished but maybe a bit weaker in atmosphere.

I agree dark souls 3 is shit.

witcher 1 is kino
witcher 2 is too clunky to be kino
witcher 3 is too big to be kino, there is no pacing whatsoever, the main quest is an afterthought, open world games cant be kino because of this

>old good new bad

Ciri is also boring as fuck but they made her the center of the goddamn universe.

The Witcher is always best when Geralt is doing Witcher things.

For me it’s love Witcher 1, hate Witcher 2, love Witcher 3

I love all three but:
2 >= 3 >= 1

Loved the witcher 1
Hated the witcher 2
Didnt play the witcher 3

Hatred is a bit strong. I would instead say that the most interesting thing about TW1 was how a choice made in an early chapter could come back much, much later. 2 had a big split, but being shorter, there were only a few moments like that. 3 completely set this aside, instead you went area by area, story by story and there was very little connective tissue beyond muh Ciri. Not doing chapter-based hubs also makes the world smaller, funnily enough, because rather than seeing a small slice of a large world, you see the supposedly huge world become one that you can quickly and easily traverse. TW3 was better in this regard than a lot of open world games, with Novigrad and all, but it still not cure the basic problem.

For me it goes like this (TW3 without the DLCs):

Atmosphere: TW1 > TW2 > TW3
Gameplay: TW2 (slower but requires more strategy than TW3, and actually exploiting monsters' weakenesses instead of spamming attack) > TW3 > TW1
Plot: TW2 > TW1 >>>(...)>>>> TW3
Characters : TW2 > TW3 > TW1
Choices : TW2 > TW1 >>>>(...)>>> TW3
Overall : TW2 > TW1 >>> TW3

But if TW3 was as good as its DLCs, then it would be close to TW2.

>Ciri is also boring as fuck but they made her the center of the goddamn universe.
That's just being true to the source material, to be fair. Sapkowski was simping hard for her, and the focus turning away from Geralt is what made me drop the books.

>removed sex cards for a more mainstream audience

Didnt even play 2 after i found out

At the least the story was cool when she was with Bonhart.

>Hated the books (the first two were fine)
>Hated The Witcher 1
>Didn't play the rest

But TW2 Triss is more hot than every TW1 sex cards combined bro.

Loved the first two, hated the third.
I should really get around to playing them someday.

tw1 is the only game i liked and the only one i finished. tw2 and tw3 were made specifically for people who didn't like tw1

Its not about what is hot, its about treating women like the whores they all are

>bald
>muscular
>yet one the most intelligent characters in franchise
which other games do this?

Ok, you're more based than I thought.

I don't know but I love this fucking trope. Big braindead brute-looking character who's actually fucking smart.

Witcher 2 was a peak witcher, especially if you are a bookfag. Witcher 3 was dumbed down in many regards.

Is he based on tyler1?

I don't hate it, it's just not as good as witcher 1.
