Dark Souls and Sekiro are boring af and people just play them to brag about it.
The only "souls" game i liked was a 3/5 clone, The Surge.

I WAS BORN
>oh my god this fire sword is so cool... What if i paired it witb sabimaru?
>holy shit i can dual wield fire and poison now... This deals so much damage, this is great
>SPEAR CAN DO THAT???
>I love destroying bosses with Mortal Draw!
>OMG MOM I DID IT I DEFLECTED FLOATING PASSAGE
Sekiro is one of the games i wish i had when i was a 13 year old.
But playing it as a 19yo is still pretty damn good tho
I respectfully disagree, I never brag about playing the souls games, I enjoy the fashion, mods PVP, and exploration
IN A PRISON
AT A VERY YOUNG AGE
Jedi Fallen Order was pretty good souls copy. Super hard too.
I gave up on Sekiro because I felt my reflexes slowed down too much, but I've been meaning to get back to the game and I had no idea you could do any of this. I thought I got fairly far but apparently not.
Sekiro is pure samurai kino despite supposedly being a ninja game
The Surge was very strange. It felt like a game that had soul but no actual talent. The combat animations were iffy at best, the item balance was awful, and most enemies were just dude with weapon, and most notable exceptions to this were unfun and made you wish for more dudes with weapons.
Kill yourself son of a whore, only From Software and Team Ninja can make good Souls games, all the others are garbage and people who like them deserve the death penalty.
Dark Souls 1 and 3 are boring as fuck yeah. But holy shit Dark Souls 2 and Sekiro are literally in the games of the decade list for me. Majulabros we should fuck those DS1 and DS3 fans and wait for bloodborne on pc. At least that's what i do rn.
look at this try hard. Loved me the Surge, Surge 2, Sekiro, Revengance, Nioh... Actually the main one I couldn't get into was Dark Souls
Is there a souls game with good ranged combat? I like what these games have going for them but I just don't enjoy melee combat in video games
Incorrect: the jumping scorpion robots were cool.
Surge 1 is underrated but I admit I like the souls formula too much, shit has to be Necropolis tier incompetent before I dislike it. Surge 2 actually improved very little relatively (while being absolute shit in terms of writing/storytelling) but the internet thought it was this huge leap because they'd systemically undervalued Surge 1.
INTO A PACK
The surge was fine but HOLY SHIT THAT LEVEL DESIGN NIGGA WHAT THE FUCK
I haven't played either but Remnant and Immortal:Unchained are supposed to be shooter souls, Remnant being critically acclaimed and popular and Immortal being beyond ultrajank.
Surge levels are 10x better if you notice the "OPS" signs that tell you you're heading back to the bonfire.
Played Remnant and it was awesome, will try the other one too, thanks a lot.
Such a shame these games don't have good ranged options most of the time
does it make the final level less shitty?
the surge levels were kinda shitty but it blew my mind each time I found out a new shortcut back to the bonfire
>holy shit I'm lost the last bonfire was 2 hours ago
>open a random door
>back to bonfire
it has more to do with every level looking the same
You retard.
Ds1 and 2 have pretty OP magic/pyromancy, good enough to barely use melee weapons, kinda works in 3 too, but all magic is a lot worse in 3.
Also you can totally beat the games bow only, it's one of my favorite ways to play even if it's really hard in some games. Ds3 and BB have 10/10 bows, I'd play one of those if you want to try out a pure archer.
the surge 2 kinda solved this problem
Bloodborne is my favorite game, but I also really love Code Vein. I've been meaning to try out Hellpoint when I had the chance.
Wait for real? I kept hearing that ranged combat was a side thing and was worthless because everyone only cared about melee in those games.
Is it actually viable in Dark Souls 3 and Bloodborne?
There are quite a few people who dislike spell builds in Souls since they're a bit less active reactive and shine more in PvE content, but there is nothing wrong with going full mage/ranger. I usually recommend bringing poison arrows at the very least to help out with exploration.
A UNICORN
I heard magic and faith suck shit in 3, at least for most of the game.
They take a lot longer to build, and a few spells have been heavily nerfed from DaS2, but you can still perform well with a magic focused build (in PvE).
Bows are still pretty difficult, you have to think a bit about what arrows to use against what bosses, and like the other user said BRING POISON.
Doesn't apply to bb though, the bow in BB is legit op as fuck, hardest part about that run is getting your weapon early.
Bowblade builds in bloodborne are pretty based though its pretty hard to play in PvP. Your best bet is balancing it between bloodtinge and skill and Endurance or just go full bloodtinge and pair it up with a chikage
