After having been recommended it by Zig Forums as ‘the greatest game of the decade, possibly ever!!’, I decided to take the plunge. It’s painfully linear, pvp is woeful, there’s no story, no music, combat was terrible at the time but even worse now that it’s dated. It holds your hand every step of the way, so if you’re after any kind of challenge, you’re looking in the wrong place.

I went in blind and platinumed it in 10 days, never having played a Souls game before.

i felt like this when i played it for the first time
then i tried going back to it for the dlc and realised just how boring the enemy, weapon, location varieties are; plus the ott quirky humour was always insufferable

don't get me wrong, i think it leads an alright base to make the outer worlds 2 - if they do it right
but i don't particularly have high hopes after peril on gorgon
