Finally emulated this shit...

Finally emulated this shit. After playing this back to back with OoT I blame retarded youtubers that thought the garbage overworld in this game was better than the one in OoT. This game feels like a romhack and it's inferior to OoT at its core.

>less open field
>more compact dungeons
>better dungeon puzzles
>ruto
How is majoras mask worse than oot? can you not play games with a time limit?

I don’t disagree about the overworld, it is indeed very rom hack esque and they could’ve done much better with it. Especially the main field outside the town from what I remember.

The town itself and the time traveling is what gives it is magic though, that makes up for the rest. That and the constant existential dread you feel while playing it

OoT and MM are undeniably some of the greatest games ever created. They both also support and compensate each other, balancing each other's strengths and weaknesses.

The overworld is unnatural and feels like it was designed by amateurs and not real developers.

No, the overworld was made by people designing VIDEO GAMES, not cinematic walking simulators where the world has no purpose besides to be big and look pretty.

OoT is. Majora's Mask is gimmicky shit

>DOOD an overworld where each quadrant of the map is a completely different season is TOTALLY not amateurish and stupid

MM is betterthan OoT in most aspects

thanks for reminding me, I need to do my yearly playthrough of this

The overworld in MM was made by people that were on a tight schedule and it shows because it's trash compared to OoT. The adjacent areas in MM are also not interconnected and isolated from each other, unlike in OoT. Like I said it feels amateurish as fuck.

Beats OoT's empty fields

Anyone who prefers OOT over MM has legitimate braindamage.
OOT feels like a tech demo in comparison and it's not even funny.

Sure if you a pleb

Anyone who prefers MM over OOT has legitimate brain damage: MM feels like a shitty romhack in comparison and it's not even funny

Not exactly.

Not at all. If by "over world" you mean the central HUB fields, then OoT's only has a square mile of empty land mass with barely any purpose.

>n-no u!
pathetic

It's the type of response you deserve. Maybe you should go back to sucking your favorite's youtuber cock

MM is the better game but OoT is the better Zelda game.

>he's also a wojak spammer
No surprises here.

The only 3D Zeldas that don't rely on gimmicks are OoT and BotW

>After playing this back to back with OoT I blame retarded youtubers that thought the garbage overworld in this game was better than the one in OoT
They both function the same. The overworlds in each are just a hub to link together the different areas. What are you even complaining about?

Majora's Mask is so good
My favorite thing about it is just how unrelentingly sad it is
There's just so much misery and despair in it

>Not at all. If by "over world" you mean the central HUB fields, then OoT's only has a square mile of empty land mass with barely any purpose.

Majora's Mask overworld is so lazy there is a literal line separating the grass area and the sand area. It feels as if it was designed by amateurs

Technically, you could consider MM to be an official romhack made by Nintendo.

BotW has stamina & crafting/ durability

Yep I've been saying this for a while. The entire overworld in Majora's Mask is pretty bad. The fact that the different areas in OoT are also interconnected makes the world feel more alive. I remember being disappointed with MM because each of the 4 areas were so isolated. I remember going to the beaver waterfall and expecting a secret path that connected that area to the woodfall area. Sadly there's nothing like that in MM. The world feels too artificial imo.

Majora's Mask objectively has better gameplay, side quests and character development.

It literally has the same gameplay. The Masks are simply gimmicks.
>character development
This isn't a movie. Nobody gives a shit about your cinematic trash

No shit. Ocarina of Time is considered the best game of all time. Majora's Mask is the ugly brother that only autists consider better just to appear contrarian.

You feel like that because Majoras Mask was initially supposed to be an expansion to Ocarina of Time instead of it's own game but got changed at the last minute due to the failure of the 64DD, that's why a lot of assets are reused and the story feels a bit nonsensical.

What's master quest then?

>Sadly there's nothing like that in MM. The world feels too artificial imo.
The Ikana River dumps you into the Southern Swamp near the Woods of Mystery.

retard

The only parts of MM that I liked were the spider houses and Ikana castle

>It literally has the same gameplay. The Masks are simply gimmicks.
Wrong. The transformation masks are a core and essential part of the game and adds a lot of new movement, fighting and puzzle solving mechanics. Cope. Character development isn't limited to just movies or books.

Ocarina of Time was way better for its time, has way more dungeons and uses original assets.

you haven't played majora's mask
either that, or you're retarded

Majora's Mask had better minigames

How are those gimmicks?

The same way the unique functions of every other game in the series is a gimmick.

>how dare he criticize my favorite shitty game
I played Majora's Mask when you weren't even born zoomer. The only interconnected area in MM is Ikana Canyon and the Southern Swamp.

People gush over the game's atmosphere all the time and I get why people like it but parts of the game just felt really sickly and drab. Also I can't stand the swamp music which also plays for maybe 20% of the game

Stamina, crafting and weapon durability aren't unique. Plenty of other games from different genres have those features. They aren't gimmicks.

I don't think they're different seasons, it's more so different climates. Snowy northern mountains, a coastal beach, arid canyons and a swamp. The main overworld outside of town was tiny so there wasn't much transition between the quadrants, but you can use your imagination a bit.

>The fact that the different areas in OoT are also interconnected makes the world feel more alive. Sadly there's nothing like that in MM.
>The only interconnected area in MM is Ikana Canyon and the Southern Swamp.
you'll need to up the damage control, turbo zoomer
im probs older than you

"Unique" as in a feature unique to the franchise that changes the game up for it to stand out from the other Zeldas, based retard.
