I guess I'm just going to sound like an SJW but there isn't a new "normal". You were trained by decades of advertising and media using only the most beautiful people to think that beauty is something on the front of a magazine or in a movie, and through the natural processes we go through of polarizing our perspectives, people will eventually end up thinking that only 8+'s are even good looking while a truly beautiful person is some exceedingly rare jewel, the same way - because of video game journalism - someone will think that a game with a rating of "only" 7 out of 10 is garbage, 8 is mediocre, and only 9+ is worth an attempt to play.
Quite literally, a 6 or 7 is the same "normal" that has always been around. The argument being made is that a person doesn't have to be a flawless 10 to be considered beautiful, and that it isn't the case that anything less than an 8 is demonically ugly.
No, the character is not drop dead gorgeous or anything. She's definitely not a model that started with peak genetics that then had plastic/cosmetic surgeries, has been painted in makeup in a room with exactly perfect lighting, that was then airbrushed/photoshopped still after the fact to look literally flawless, and she hasn't been designed to emulate any of that shit, either. But, she's definitely not ugly by any stretch of the imagination. She's cute looking, imo, at least a 6 or 7, although she's got ridiculous DSL. She is certainly attractive and feminine, and anyone telling you otherwise is literally too plugged into the machine to be considered a healthy human.
Also, I specify "cute looking" because being cute/moe is 99% personality more than looks. Once you get your brain off of being a fucking weeb, you realize that the character archetypes of being "moe" is mostly about personality, and that "gap moe" (where the personality differs from the implied image of the person) is the strongest form of cuteness.
