>your weapon bumps into narrow walls while enemies' weapons clip through them >stamina is infinite but only for enemies >almost every attack can stagger you, almost none of you attacks staggers the enemy >enemies who can parry your attacks, usually cannot be parried or can be paired only while doing one specific random attack >no friendly fire on the enemy's side so they can gank on you (usually not a problem and you can lure them one by one but there are some rare moments when you have to fight more than one enemy at a time) >wonky camera >archers in bullshit spots (looking at you, anor londo in ds1) >some enemies have attacks damage you in your iframe roll
Dark Souls series is not hard "because it's hard". It's hard because it's unfair. Change my mind.
Cannot even cancel ass-long estus drinking animation.
INB4 "enemies don't heal themselves": but they kill the player in two hits and we don't

Enemies having an advantage is literally what difficulty is in any game. Wether it’s more health, more allies, or stronger attacks, that’s the point. You overcome your enemies.
You can hit enemies through walls. It seems that the only walls you can't are those that are too narrow to allow the full weapon swing to animate. And archers are supposed to be in advantageous positions, that's why they're archers.
Blake Gutierrez
> It seems that the only walls you can't are those that are too narrow to allow the full weapon swing to animate
That's what I'm talking about. Enemies don't give a fuck about that.
Nathaniel Davis
Wow, with the exception of the Stamina comment, as I don't think they're coded with Stamina, just AI, everything you have said is patently false! Good job!
Please reply with which attack damages you in your iframe roll, because not even lava does that.
Hudson Rogers
I love this skinny little heretic like you wouldn't believe!
His left hand smash can be iframed but when he does that with his right hand, you get damage (that wasn't the case when this video was recorded.
Mason Hall
Who gives a shit, the positive aspects heavily outweigh the negative ones you listed. None of those are an issue once you understand how to play these games.
I still like this series despite the flaws. I just don't like when people pretend they don't exist.
Ryan Johnson
Ok, odds are stacked against you, but theoretically you can learn to work with what you got and anticipate enemy attacks. If the game is unfair, how is it a retard like me can do a no death run of the game?
Benjamin Parker
> If the game is unfair, how is it a retard like me can do a no death run of the game?
Either you underestimate yourself or you played the game too many times.
Gabriel Barnes
>almost every attack can stagger you, almost none of you attacks staggers the enemy Play a heavy weapon and this becomes almost false. It's fun launching enemies into the air with the UGS combat arts in DS3. Also, I wouldn't say it's piss easy but it isn't super difficult either, it's designed to punish people who play through on their first few times by being greedy and not checking their surroundings.
Liam Bennett
Why do I have to play with a giant weapon if the enemy can use a fucking little dagger? That's unfair.
>>your weapon bumps into narrow walls while enemies' weapons clip through them True dat >>stamina is infinite but only for enemies It isnt >>almost every attack can stagger you, almost none of you attacks staggers the enemy Hyper armor and poise exist even if its nerfed in ds3 >>enemies who can parry your attacks, usually cannot be parried or can be paired only while doing one specific random attack Bs >>no friendly fire on the enemy's side so they can gank on you (usually not a problem and you can lure them one by one but there are some rare moments when you have to fight more than one enemy at a time) Bs some mobs fight monsters like black knights darkwraiths giants etc >>wonky camera No >>archers in bullshit spots (looking at you, anor londo in ds1) Git gud >>some enemies have attacks damage you in your iframe roll No
Nolan Stewart
I have played DS1 and DS3 but not DS2. Why is it better?
Justin Harris
looked like shockwaves to me
Lincoln Jackson
it isn't
Noah Torres
Then use faster weapons that kill shit fast or just have retardo damage like the black knight halberd or sellsword twinblades. The former has a really nice running attack that hits straight down vertically, the latter has stupid DPS. Rapiers are pretty nice too IIRC since they hit straight and quick. Can't get hit if the enemy dies.
Thomas Johnson
Cool armour sets It is
Luke Miller
you guys know what des and ds1 did better? actually letting you have a functional tank build that didn't get stunned by a peasant with a pitchfork.
Lincoln Gray
Imagine all the points you listed above, multiply them by 3, add nonsensical world and leveldesign on top of the worst graphics in the series, and you got Souls 2.
Tbh player's stamina in this clip is recovering very fast too
Anthony Bailey
Doesn't seem to be getting staggered hmmmmm interesting....
Nathan Morgan
>Souls game can be broken into an easy mode WOOOW
Parker Price
Uhh, his shield is up. Why would he get staggered?
Sebastian Edwards
not getting stunned by every speck of damage you take, powerstancing, varied duel-wielding builds, the ability to (and having rewards for) do no-bonfire and no-death runs, and company of champions to put hair on your chest. of course, all those positives come at a cost. ds1's interconnected world is gone, majula is the absolute center of everything, with all other paths being branched out. (I think this is a side effect of having bonfire teleporting available from the start), some of the enemies are just absolute cunts, and there are several spots and enemy placements are just blatantly there as a "GOTCHA!" moment. to say nothing of what SoTFS did to the lighting, like, holy shit it's bad. still, I had fun with it.
Caleb Cooper
Hey, I'm not stopping you dude. Give it a try if you want, but based on your points I say you won't like it.
Not him but DS2 still has poise in it while 3 doesn't, save for the heavier weapons and some combat arts giving you super armor if you can even consider it the same thing.
