I used to enjoy lurking in the qo/v/ threads but now it's back to lurking the Zig Forums catalog and lamenting about the board's absolute state, it genuinely improved during the elections when all the politicsfags going to Zig Forums made everything slower and you could talk about videogames without worrying that the thread would die in 20 minutes

Anything that becomes consistently fun on Zig Forums is deemed a circlejerk/general and then crashed and burned for no good reason.

Of course they are a waste of time, that's the point. I throw up a little every time someone tries to characterize gaming as a "hobby", as though it's anything more than a mindless distraction.

I'd say threads just need to archive slower so that less popular things don't have to be really popular to survive, it would be easy to just double the amount of threads to 400 and that would already do a lot for videogames on Zig Forums

I do think games are a lot more commercialised. Some are designed not for artistic intent, but to milk you for money.
