At first I hated it because I am an ultra autist and wanted am actual prequel but the cutscenes and interations in the game are super fucking cool. I ended up enjoying it. I hope we get a free DLC that actually leads up to BoTW and has playable Robbie Purah Sooga and Astor. Also more costumes PLEASE. I am actually having a lot of fun bros.

It’s very satisfying to play. Plus we can play as the champions. I really like BOTW so I’m glad they made it. Haven’t finished it yet but I’m really loving it.

I haven't read any of the leaks but what's supposed to be bad about it? The gameplay is fun as fuck so far for all characters (just unlocked the future champion descendants and have great fairies+monk). The story is kinda dumb but why would I give a fuck when the story of BotW was barebones boring dogshit anyway?

It's a pretty good Musou imo.
Good variety on the movesets. Could do with a bit more interesting maps, and definitively like more polish on the performance, but the characters are definitively fun and that's half of an appeal of a Musou.

It wasn't clearly marketed as a spin-off so the expectation of it being a prequel was firm in just about everyone's mind. Most of the headlines I've seen about the game continue to refer to it as a prequel, even after release. It's a pretty understandable reaction to be disappointed. They couldn't even throw in a half-assed canon bad ending that leads into BotW? Why even bother setting the game before BotW, then? Why not make another HW, but with BotW characters this time? The answer is that Nintendo wanted something to tide people over since BotW2 is evidently still far away, but this was a pretty lousy way to do it for anyone who's interested in the story.
