Speaking of In Bruges, is this pic an edit?
I can't remember the point where they've both got their guns like that at the same time.

Story and Graphics are only emphasized by bad games and hyped up by fake gamers. The Golden Rule: Gameplay, Soundtrack and Art Direction are the most important and crucial elements of a good game, everything else is secondary.

It feels good to be a true gamer.

It must be a promo shot or something cause no, it's not actually in the movie.

thats why I never watch movie recommendations.

It definitely is in the movie, it’s probably the most memorable scene. He’s going to kill himself and his friend orders him to put the gun down by pointing his own gun at him. It happens in a children’s playground.

Great movie.

Because they are better than games and it makes you worried that you won’t find games with as good plots?

that scene is in the movie, but that shot is not

I'm gonna disagree. Karate chopping a midget is the scene I always remember.

This is a cope of the thoughtless gamer. Gameplay challenges your instincts, story challenges your sensibilities. The true gamer requires both to be good. The amount of games with good gameplay AND good story are so lacking, the true gamer could probably count on both hands the games that have truly satisfied him over the years.

WHo the fuck says Halo Reach has a good story?

It's not a /bad/ story, but it's just sort of alright, aside from Lone Wolf with Objective: Survive which is a great moment.

>Art Direction is more important than a story
Good art direction tells a story you pseud

Fpbp

I hated the movie, I never saw what anyone liked about it. The humor was so low brow and the plot was contrived

I have, in my entirety of experience playing video games (~25 years), never once played a game that I would consider contains good writing.

Attached: af2.png (600x508, 255.95K)

bullshit

some games you play for story, emotional investment due to good story telling or even atmosphere, regardless of shitty gameplay (Planescape. Mask of Betrayal, Transistor, Dark Souls etc)

ALso to add, the only Halo game with a legitmately good story and great wriiting is Halo 2

There's a legitimately impressive amount of narrative threads, intersecting plotlines, subtle enoivmrental storytelling and forshadowing, etc in Halo 2, and the actual dialog is all incredible... though it's also, again, sort of so much and so interwoven that it's easy to miss stuff and not connect the dots on how good the writing and design actually is, see:

It does sort of just come to a screeching halt of a non-ending, though

Soundtrack is only higher than plot for arcade games. You dont just play ADHD arcade games do you?

>caring about story

The humor is dry and dark without much reprieve from it. Some people really liked that, myself included. I agree its not "high-brow" humor though.
The scene with the fat american followed by the dude telling him he can't go up to the tower later in the film because "someone had a heart attack" got me too.

Nobody. OP is just a faggot stirring the pot. Reach's story was largely garbage aside from the last stand section. Otherwise it's just another action flick doomed group scenario.

If it's a story-heavy game or something like an RPG that isn't just a straight-up dungeon crawler, then yes, I'm probably going to focus on the story.

This was my main problem with The Last of Us. People always say it has an amazing story to make up for the shit gameplay, but the story is cliche, predictable shit.

Read a book then.

>gamers say a game has a good story
>play it
>Majority of the story is light-hearted until the end

Also the relationship with the young guy and the girl was horrible. Nothing romantic in the slightest happens and he acts like an autistic serial killer and yet they fall for each other just for the sake of the plot.

>story challenges your sensibilities
Lose weight and have sex you cringy faggot, you are not a real gamer. Story can be experienced much better in books, cinema and movies. Gameplay can only be experienced in gaming. Soundtrack enhanced the gameplay in a way that story and graphics never will. Art Direction alone can tell 1000 times more than a story and graphics ever will in a single shot of supreme art direction scene, From Software games do it the best. Didn't read the rest of your post. Anyone that disagrees with me is a fake gamer and I will spit in his face in real life.
Not only that, it tells 1000x more than a story of words ever would or could. That is why From Software is the best developer in the gaming industry. They don't need to waste your time with 10 hours of story, they show you a 3-4 sec scene of how Gehrman stands up and joins the hunt, that scene alone tells me more than any story ever would or could.
>some games you play for story, emotional investment due to good story telling or even atmosphere
Lose weight and have sex you cringy incel. Atmosphere is the result of Art Direction and Soundtrack, not story. As for emotional investment, you are a child, go live your life before it is too late, there is no meaningful story in GAMES, what you are desribing are 0 risk of failure interactive movies pretending to be games. You are not a true gamer, you will never ever be a true gamer, subhumans like you damaged the potential of gaming and the gaming industry.

>Halo Reach has a good story
The only thing people talks about is the ending my dude
SMT 1 isn't shit, just archaic compared to modern RPGs. It's my favorite from the numbered titles

It's a character-driven story. Joel's arc is really well done, and the plot has enough subtleties here and there to analyze if you want to.

>He’s going to kill himself and his friend orders him to put the gun down by pointing his own gun at him
no, his friend tries to kill him, because he killed a kid, but when he is about to kill him, collins characters point a gun at himself and the friend stops him because he saw he really regrets that he accidentally killed that kid.
really touching scene about how often the people we forgive the most are ourselves.

I play true games for true gamers, games that follow the golden rule: Gameplay, Soundtrack and Art Direction are the most important and crucial elements of a good game, everything else is secondary.

Any "game" that tries to hype up its story or graphics gets automatically black listed by me. Secondary elements are not important. Games that provide proper gameplay, good soundtracks and art directions, those are worthy of my time, those are worthy of my money. I refuse to partake in the garbage 0 risk of failure interactive movies pretending to be games that are so beloved by the masses of low IQ subhumans. I spit on the witcher, I spit on GTA, I spit on mass effect, I spit on your western gaming industry you sons of whores, you are the cancer that ruined the potential of the gaming industry and gaming in general.

so... this is the power of a neanderthal Fromlet...

>I don't like story, but I like story
All those games have stories that are pretty in your face (and they'd all be worse without their stories,) also Japan loves movie games more than the West you annoying autist

>3x3 contains a game that's barely had any footage released, let alone a release date
Decent bait

But the gameplay and art-direction in Bloodborne are both shit

Heh

Stuck in the eternal hell that is never wanting to watch movies but also being utterly bored of how SHIT games are
Oh well back to mindless shooting

Read books. Engages your brain more than movies do and last a lot longer. Only problem is there are so many fucking books it's hard to start these days

Well yeah it was bad but that seemed very intentional though, only adding to the guy's immense level of suffering when discovering that the girl he "fell" for, was really a drug-dealing crazy bitch who tried to scam him, and that, even considering their awful chemistry, they still pine for each other in the vain hope of alleviating suffering which will never come. His acceptance of that fact kinda points to his own weakness as a character.
I can see why not everyone would enjoy the film though, its very niche and not always in a "high-quality, haha you just don't understand" type of fashion.

I do, audiobooks included
