How come it's so much harder to make friends in videogames these days than it used to be 10+ years ago?

You don’t go outside

because youre 27 and not 17

How would going outside help me make online friends?

Why are you trying to become friends with kids when you're no longer a kid yourself? Nothing has changed but you got old.

I don't think about guys I talk to on internet as real or even human

>subreddits
>discord servers
>e-celebs

When my age group first started playing MMO'S an FPS's and such, connecting with people online was a novelty. Don't really feel the need as much when I'm regularly voice chatting with my IRL friends.

Because you're not that innocent and worry-free anymore, but even nowadays you can still make friends

Because you're jaded and unwilling to look past slight things, ironically enough because most gamers (especially those here) bemoan how fragile everyone is.

>Online friends are real friends too.
Doesn't make me feel any less lonely irl.

Everyone is afraid of having their accounts banned and their money and progress stolen by some faggot reporting them so they don't use in-game chat anymore and talk to the same people they met 10 years ago on discord

The only fun and genuine people I meet are high funtioning autists hilariously enough. Everyone else hides behind a veil of douchebaggery or are trying to get my credit card information.

I miss the time where society assumed that average internet user was some fat obese neckbeard. Now a days you have stupid whores and sociopaths dudebros acting like NEETs.

And then these zoomer kids wonder why they are so sad after staring at a screen for hours, rather than going outside to make ACTUAL friends that they can see and completely verify themselves that they do indeed exist.

matchmaking happen

LOL pretty much this. When I was younger I added tons of people and didn't give a fuck but now I'm 26 and just want to be left alone.

The only correct answer so far

Not everybody's everyday vocabulary is so fucked that they can't help but call random people faggots and trannies.

This. Literally control yourself, it's that simple. Can't believe you have the mentality of "everyone is so fucking fragile and scared nowadays!!" but you get sent into a shaking and crying fit over your inability to just slam your keyboard over losing in a fucking video game.

>"brb having a fag"
>Banned for saying a homophobic slur

>Be with same guild for over 10 years
>Finally decide to meet up at Blizzcon
>We all meet up at the bar
>13 Of us in total showed up
>Had the greatest time of my life
>Went out to eat as one big group
>Went to the arcades and movies
>Went to all the Blizzcon events
>Couldn't remember the last time I was so happy
>Eventually the event ends
>Everyone has to go home
>One by one they all leave
>Suddenly just me left at the airport
>Come home to empty cold house
>Depressed as fuck now missing them
>Virus stops us from having future meetups

>"brb smoke"
>literally easier and quicker

>smoking
you deserve it, dipshit

until one day they just decide to never talk to you again

whatever faggot.

So you're saying you need to fuck up your vocabulary to not be banned.

Lose weight fatty

>Smoking in 2020
Do adults seriously do this? What are you, 15?

>didnt have an orgy

>Found out that 3 of my friends were the same person
>they were cyber stalking/grooming me
I wondered why they all seemed to play the same games as me.

Tell us the story

I met up with my online buddies from CS:GO and we had a fucking blast, went to a strip club and multiple bars, was a fun fucked up night, shame one of them committed suicide and the other became a drug addict and is locked up.

I only do if they've made some semblance of making me relevant to their lives. I did a secret Santa with some guys I met on a tf2 server many moons ago and they're the only online pals I've had that I consider "real" people.

It doesn't offend me, buddy, I'm just not underage so I can control myself enough to not holler "NIGGER" at the top of my lungs over fucking video games. You're a retard, stick to singleplayer games.

The internet used to be composed of mostly the same type of people, men who were nerds in one way or the other, especially PC gaming. Now there's all kinds of fags, normies retards and plain mentally ill people playing, so you never know who you're actually talking to.

I already did, it's not a super long story bro.

>Be me
>Had a group of friends on PS4
>They were pretty cool guys at first
>As time went on they stopped inviting me to stuff less and less
>Find out a few weeks ago that they were planning a meetup together and didn't want to invite me
>Block all of them
>Seven months later and I'm completely friendless
>Realize that I don't even use my voice anymore because I have nobody to talk to
>Start screaming and slamming my walls like a fucking crazy person
