>*ruins your game*
*ruins your game*
You're bad
Doesn't really ruin it but Marauders are more tedious to fight compared to other enemies.
Of course, similar to Dark Souls, casuals mindlessly buy into the "they're supposed to be hard" aspect, meaning any criticism directed towards them is simply handwaved away. Oh well.
Literally unironically learn to use your head.
If you're a game journalist yeah.
Imagine still being filtered by this 6 months later
*filters you*
You can kill them very easily without weapon switching.
>walk backwards
>kill marauder
if you can't dodge a simple projectile, that's on you.
lmao just shoot him until he dies
Just git gud
>Doesn't really ruin it but Marauders are more tedious to fight
This is true, marauders are tedious to fight because you can only damage them on their terms but overall they're not hard to deal with.
Marauder is the only doom enemy you can't unga bunga to death so it just filters everybody who can't rub 2 brain cells together.
Literally takes 10 seconds to kill if you stay at the right distance and shoot him with the ssg and ballista in quick succession
baron of hell is way more boring and tedious than Marauder could ever be.
>What if we put a Devil May Cry enemy into DOOM?
>most "difficult" enemy is just some guy with a shield
BUT HE PUTS IT OP WHENEVER I SHOOT AT HIM!
Would have preferred if he was more of a recurring boss.
He didnt ruin the game. The game was ruined by forcing the player to use the chainsaw on smaller demons, to get ammo to kill the bigger demons in every single combat area.
they're probably not so bad if you're not playing on nightmare but yeah they're pretty fucking terrible enemies especially for a first person shooter
He is, you can count on your fingers how many appear on the base game
literally just hit him with the turret form chaingun
I meant presentation-wise. Feels like waste to just stick him in the base enemy roster.
I don't mind the marauder so much, but the fact that every enemy they added after that in the DLC follows a similar trend is concerning. It feels like they can't figure out how to make the game difficult without giving them some form of invincibility.
>literally unironically
Holy fucking cringe
>shield blocks argent sword
I call bullshit on that.
My only concern with the DLC was Spirits. Yeah you could just kill every other demon in the arena but the fact that you can only kill them with Microwave Beam rubbed me the wrong way. I hope they don't keep perusing that kind of enemy design in Ancient Gods 2.
if anything, enemies are more hindered by the closed arena combat than the player
Playing through right now, on the slayer gate with him. He's not particularly hard but fighting him while a dozen infinite enemies are attacking from all sides is actually rough.
>shield of argent energy blocks sword of argent energy
how is that bullshit
I hate that Slayer Gate, probably the hardest one in the game. Before I kill him I kill all the Prowlers first until they stop spawning. Holy fuck I fucking hate Prowlers.
it also shows some limitations with the new games' formula, as if enemies attacks can be limited
could be a lot of factors, but when a game is about encountering enemies in closed spaces while having to always move, you have to make enemies fit, even if they have to "move smartly" or something
classic doom monsters were just obstables placed around a maze and despite their outdated "ai", they felt like they had more honest roles and you could come up with shit like archviles because of the unofficial motto: "anything fits if the levels allow it"
the new games don't realy "marry" level design with combat or enemy placement
this also applies when enemies try to have multiple abilities, which also results of them sharing similar attacks
I like him. Also
>faggot zoomers can't beat him without Le Meme Quiccweapon Swapping Exploit
Have yet to see a single video where one of these losers takes out a marauder legit.
this enemy's bad
