Only one I haven't played here is ZTD. Is it worth playing? Also what about that newish anime detective game, AI - Somnium Files? I generally have a high tolerance for anime / j-tropes but that game looks beyond weebshit is it also worth playin?
Recommend me more games like this

13 sentinels
>13 sentinels
is that the game where the girl rides the motorcycle plugged into her vagoo?
A giant mech yes
It's PS4 only I sold that shit like a year ago, so unfortunately I can't play it.
Should I play/read Ever17? I don't understand how a literal VN would be anywhere near as engaging as a VN/ adventure game hybrid but I'm willing to give it a try.
Try "The Song of Saya" (Saya no Uta) is on steam
sure but if you do use this reddit.com
if you want to play never7 as well as ever17 do it first, not later, because it is quite boring by comparison
Play Danganronpa Ultra Despair Girls if you haven't already
>selling your consoles
>ever
I've heard of it and seen a little bit from it, why should I play it does it have mystery elements?
Hey thanks user, appreciate it. I'll give this a download now.
I haven't played that either but I wasn't sure if that one looked very good. I remember watching the first part in a let's play and it didn't seem like what I thought about DR1 and 2 and even 3, looks like weebshit on surface level but are actually good games deep down. UDG just looked and seemed like weebshit all around.
ZTD isn't worth playing if you want an actually good mystery game, if you want to be in on the meme you can play it but don't expect a good game.
AI somnium files isn't a good detective mystery game, it focuses mainly on comedy and undercuts and serious stuff with stupid jokes and feels very budget.
YTTD is alright but its not done yet. Its insanely impressive for being a rpgmaker game, never knew it could do shit like that.
Raging Loop is a wolf game similar to DR, but takes itself pretty seriously in comparison and with time looping shit. The MC is very good and is an actual character unlike most visual novels, but only a few characters really stand out, most are really weak and just role fillers. Also the twist at the end is just bad and I thought it was a joke at first but it kept going. The interesting thing about it is its gimmick of replaying the entire game with tons of new content also it has cute post game stories. About half of the game is the first play through, so if you're not interested in completely replaying a mystery game while seeing things from different characters perspectives like the killers and some extra scenes then maybe not play it.
don't think I don't see that copy of DeSu 2 Record Breaker, you lucky asshole. That thing costs a ton these days.
Anyways, I hear YTTD and Umineko are solid.
It's not my image, also what is YTTD if I may ask?
Your turn to die. Its a escape room / mafia game.
Never7 and Remember11.
ZTD has a few good moments, and since you already own the game, I'd recommend it especially since it's only like 20 hours. AI is also pretty good, I'd probably put at about the level of VLR in terms of enjoyment. It doesn't really have that much weebshit to be honest, maybe less than the DR games even. Another user already mentioned it, but 13 Sentinels is excellent as well. You also might want to check out the Ace Attorney Investigations games, and maybe the new trilogy if you really want, but those aren't nearly as good.
Ah okay thanks for the input, I'll skip ZTD and AI then, since that was my gut feelings on them anyways.
YTTD sounds great, I'm going to play this one before I touch Ever17, and I'll check out Raging Loop as well.
Aren't those made by the same team that made Ever17 and the ZE games? Which one do I play first?
Higurashi when they cry hou. It's a VN like the games in your picture.... but it has literally no gameplay. Purely a VN. I'm 3 chapters/episodes in and I'm really enjoying it.
Now and actual game like in your picture would be hotel dusk room 215. It's on my "to play list"(which means i haven't played it yet) and it's a detective VN. From what I've heard, people who've played it really enjoyed it
AI - Somnium Files is absolute shit, it tries to be serious one moment and then completely flips to dumb weeb humor
UDG arguably has the best story and atmosphere of the series but also the worst gameplay
ZTD is not really worth playing, but it you want to see the Zero Escape series conclude, you have no other choice than to play it, warts and all. Ai Somnium Files is great. there is definitely some weeb moments, but it is still just as much of an Uchikoshi product as his other works. Other visual novel type/adventure games I also recommend if you want more:
Hotel Dusk/Last Window
Ghost Trick
Trace Memory
The Silver Case/25th ward
13 Sentinels
Hatoful Boyfriend
Have you read Umineko? I read a few chapters and I got bored, then stopped reading it. How does Higurashi compare?
That's reassuring, yeah I remember the gameplay looked really janky and that was part of the reason I didn't want to play it. I remember there were a bunch of different bullet types or something, and monokumas would chase and attack you. I think if UDG really is as good as some people say it is then it has to be worth a playthrough.
I want to throw my hat into the ring and say that UDG really isn't worth playing. It bored me to tears and the plot sucks. The best thing about DR1 and SDR2 were the ensemble cast of characters interacting with each other in a closed off environment, and this game has a piss poor supporting cast of annoying elementary schoolers that are grating to deal with (and only 2 of them are really any worth bothering to get to know). Otherwise you are left with Toko and Komaru for the rest of the game. Some people may enjoy their dynamic, but they are all you really have to deal with and if you aren't jiving with them then you aren't going to have a good time.
The gameplay isn't much to write home about either. It feels like you can just watch a commentary less lp of the game and still get the same experience.
never7 is the first infinity game, ever17 the second, remember11 the third; they increase in plot and decrease in moe trash each entry until, by remember11, the entire thing is just plot
remember11 patch is also imminent
lux-pain, yeah thats right.
Don't believe that user. UDG is fucking trash. Regret going out of my way to get the vita version at launch.
it's better than ztd
This might be a stupid question but can I skip Never7 is any of it essential for the plot for E17?
never7 contains one plot point which can be considered relevant for later, but it is not essential that you play it to understand ever17. you will probably not grasp the full consequences of one plot point in ever17 but that's acceptable
thanks user and everyone in this thread, going to head off to sleep now. got a few games downloaded (YTTD and Ever17) and a few more on my backlog. cheers!
428: Shibuya Scramble
Are you into point and click adventures?
seconding 13 Sentinels. Haven't been that invested in anime mystery bullshit in a long time. Shit's excellent.
and the strategy is pretty great too.
