Bernie! Bernie! Bernie!

Edelgard has the strongest characters.

Bernadetta is in Edelgard's class. If you go with another, remember to recruit her otherwise you're eventually going to have to kill her.

Claudes route is the easiest in my opinion, the only issue being the final boss will be 10-15 levels above you

the one with Byleth...

you could go for the black eagle class if you like Burnie that much and then realize that you made a mistake because Edelgard is a retarded warmonger and that her route is the most retarded and go for the Church route but the chruch route is literally made for marrying Rhea
the only REAL way to play this is to play blue lions first and recruit Bernie or she will die in a fire because of Edelgardthen on your 2nd run go for the golden deers

Because of the way lore is revealed in each route, it's reccomended to go Dimitri > Edelgard > Claude > Edelgard again but don't go with her to Enbarr. If you're just going to do one playthrough though then go with Claude. Just remember to recruit Bernie since you clearly want her.

You should try Blue Lions first, Golden Deer second and Black Eagles for last if you care about the story and how it all connects.

If you don't, then any route is good.

Dimitri is the canon one and has the best story. Claude is second best though.

Blue Lions is the best route to start with since the first half of the game focuses entirely on BL characters, and Part 1 is the same for every route. The mid-game twist is best experienced with Dimitri.
Also, Mercedes is best girl.

Nearly every event that happens in the school arc is directly related to a member of the Blue Lions house, and affects them the hardest.
The story, including one very important twist, would hit you the hardest on their route.
Afterwards do what you will, Golden Deer is the "learn the lore of Fodlan" route so I think that benefits being your second or later run.

Okay ill go blue lions. How many people can I recruit before shit hits the fan

Blue Lions is the best one to start with.

Nearly all of them. If you're on Blue Lions then only Claude, Edelgard and Hubert are off the table.

As many as you want, provided you build enough support with them. Deployment caps at 12 in endgame though. Everyone in the Blue Lions is good to start with, and you can recruit from there based on what you think you need

All of them if you so desire.

>How many people can I recruit before shit hits the fan
If you know the mechanics, you can end up recruiting all the other students before Chapter 12. You have to raise your MC's stats to a certain level and use the friendship mechanic to groom them into joining your class.

>all these anons pretending 3H is written well at all and that you'll feel anything on one route versus another
did you faggots just not read books growing up or what? ask your parents why they're such failures

Golden Deer, because you get to ignore the soap opera that Edelshit and Dimitard star in. I hope you pull through this game user because it's easy as shit that makes it quite boring. Not to mention the reused content.

The reused maps is the laziest fucking shit ever.

Shittiest route, also nah. You can recruit all the Black Eagles and you're just missing Edel/Hubert/Jeritza. If you want Bernedetta just poach her as Blue Lions or Golden Deer. IF you do Black Eagles, just betray Edelgard.

All of them if you put the effort in (aside from Edelgard, Hubert, Dimitri, Dedue, Claude, and for some reason on the BE route Hilda). I personally found that the story hits harder if you don't recruit but it's up to you.

Oh shit I forgot
OP try hard mode first
If it's too hard you can lower the difficulty, but not raise it
Did my first run BL run on normal, regreted it because it was just too easy..

Which difficulty is recommended on a first run?

>he recruited units instead of using base house+story units added to your party
Kind of defeats the purpose of having different routes if you can get the units anyway.

Hard.
Normal is just too easy.
Maddening is a good challenge but I'd recommend that for a second run.

if you've never played a strategy game in your life, normal.
If you've a FE series veteran, hard
If you're a FE3H veteran, maddening.

Hard is equivalent to most FE games' normal. Normal mode is easy on its own, and combined with the divine pulse mechanic it's basically impossible to use any units. Don't do maddening either, it's all min/max RNG autism.

maddening is exceedingly well designed except reunion at dawn and was the most fun I've ever had playing a strategy game

Black Eagles, then side with Rhea

every route is flawed

Admittedly I haven't played it and im just going off how FE has balanced extra-hard modes in the past.

Lunatic(+) was super bullshit but maddening is legitimately good IMO

Blue Lions--Golden Deer or Church--then Edelturd if you like her

Church or Claude if you only play one route.
