The more you pirate, the more microtransactions, more expensive games and less quality games

The more you pirate, the more microtransactions, more expensive games and less quality games.

Scientifically it doesn't work that way. You may want to read up on the studies done on the impact of piracy on video game sales.

i only pirate music that can't be found without spending hundreds of dollars
i should emulate nintendo games though, since i bought a wii u, i paid my fucking price

source: my ass

You really think if no one pirated that these companies would stop this shit that makes them billions of dollars?

You sir live in fantasy land.

yeah, publishers are just going to stop using wildly lucrative business practices because a small subset of their audience starts buying things again

Not necessarily. Developers make the same amount of money if you pirate or never play the game at all. It's only when pirates would be willing to play the game if it were free or if DRM prevents cracking that they have an incentive to make changes.
For stuff like DLC and microtransactions in paid games, they would do it no matter if you pirated. It's simply down to how much money there is to be made and how much they have to gain from upping their budget.

I'd argue that the incentive structures in place for companies to engage in race to the bottom anti-consumer practices vastly outweighs the impact of piracy ten-fold

So how come Cyberpunk 2077 is average in price, has been developed at an enormous bduget, has no micro* and is being released on PC DRM free?

*There is no micro in CP2077, but there is paid cosmetic in the multiplayer spinoff.

yeah, just buying games no questions asked sure are going to put a stop to jewish business tactics. we have to keep buying games no matter how much they nickel and dime

heard it before, why are we blindly believing CDPR? Fuckem

This is 100% true, but also: the less you pirate.
There is no possible way to push any of those variables in the opposite direction, no matter what any of us do.

>why are we blindly believing CDPR?

Why would we disbelieve them?

I "voted with my wallet" for years and now literally nothing is made for me, games get made for the people who have actually been buying stuff. Nothing you personally do has any impact on what games get made, just do whatever you want

There's literally no correlation between the two
Jews will always seek to jew people out of as much money as they can. If they can't do it immediately then they boil the frog slowly like with what happened with DLC(cancer)

Because they are a company whose end goal is to make the highest profit possible

Yeah I need to pay for 20 year old games on consoles that dont make money anymore.

bingo

>Because they are a company whose end goal is to make the highest profit possible

Yes, and telling lies would be bad PR. Can you give me an example of a developer who falsely claimed a game wouldn't have micro?

If I’m pirating then why shouldn’t care about more expensive games and microtransactions?

no
muh infinite expansion ensures that companies will be squeezing you for every last dime, forever

See: COD WW2

If you like buying games then why is your game library so small?

Attached: linguini.png (317x317, 213.33K)

>why should I

Then I will carry the burden of destroying the games industry as it stands.
With any hope, in the future someone can melt down the remains and forge a new one of enjoyment and prosperity.

poland

dont care, every new game that comes out is a piece of shit compared to dwarf fortress so why the fuck would i ever pay for them. all i need is df

Developers lie all the time why do you think it is that every game announced at e3 gets downgraded on release?
They were never planning to actually make the game that they advertised, merely to sell you an idea. And once you've bought into it they can do whatever they want, including adding microtransactions
And yes cod has done this exact thing multiple times and they got away with it even through the bad pr

Exactly like if anything and we want to go by numbers, the buyer pool for Call of Duty is the same size if not bigger, yet nothing was changed.

What games have made this happen to you?
For me it's DOOM Eternal

Have you looked at the net profit of most videogame companies? I realised my theft makes fuck all difference in the grand scheme of things.

>"if you like buying games"
>not "if you like games"
ya blew it

the reason people bought so many games/consoles is the reason everything is low effort now, they know it takes no effort to get retards to buy

look at fifa and look at lootboxes/gacha

Wrong
The more people that pay for downloads, micro transactions, and more expensive games and less quality games the more we get those things
I used to pay for games when physical copies for PC was an option
Remember that the industry, primarily Valve, said digital and no physical copies would make games less expensive yet the exact opposite has happened when everything is taken into consideration.
No physical copy, no manual, the dev/publisher have to spend less effort and save money because no physical copy and no manual or any other extras, early access aka paying to test a developer's game when they used to have to pay people to test their game, patches, updates, micro transactions, intentionally releasing games unfinished, being charged for a ticket to download, have to go through some online platform to legally play, indie devs have more money than some major developers used to have in the past, easier to distribute both physically and digitally, digital "deluxe" editions, digital preorders, a much larger customer base, said larger customer base is more brainwashed and compliant, etc etc

Both piracy and microtransactions are driven by the fact that digital content is virtually worthless.
