Admit it, if Beenox gave Wrath of Cortex the Nitro-fueled treatment, it would easily end up better than TfB's 2020 dumpster fire. Even if they did the bare minimum of fixes: >load times very easy fix on PS5 >coco levels make her fully playable with Crash's move set >physics fix the floaty jump. this might require minor level tweaks, but given how well they fixed Nitro Kart's tracks to adapt to CTR physics, it should be no problem. >hanging speed easy fix >vehicle levels fix the awful controls and add a few dlc platformer levels to balance things out >enemies fix the retarded placement/attack speed >mech suit cut it
with these tweaks you will get a better flowing crash game with good music. NST part 4.
At that point you might as well make a traveller's tales double pack and include twinsanity

*with all the cut content
Sebastian Ross
honestly, why not? nostalgiafags would buy that over a pozzed Crash 5
Lincoln Scott
I found it weird that Activision wanted to retcon Wrath of Cortex and Twinsanity so badly with About Time. Sure, it's a new Crash game, but don't act like you're any better than Travel's Takes at picking up from where Naughty Dog wanted to finish.
Jayden Barnes
I wouldn't mind a full remake of Wrath of Cortex that fixes all the problems, streamlines the stages, and gives the OG trilogy bosses more to do than just stand around as level obstacles. And also make the boss fights more difficult and interesting. Bring Crunch and the Elementals into the new timeline, then make original content with them included. I don't think Crunch has ever been playable in a mainline Crash game, has he?
Jason Bell
Imagine making an anticipated 12 year sequel with 3 years of good faith from remakes and it still hasn’t outsold the worst Crash games during a pandemic where people are buying more vidya.
Imagine telling Activision this to their face.
Joseph Sullivan
but WoC's level design is so boring by the time you've fixed everything terrible about WoC you basically have an entirely different game
Jaxon Diaz
eh, it's not that hard of a retcon. they included plenty of post-ND references: >Elementals in Blast to the Past >Crunch image in Flashback tapes and name on fridge >Twins image in Out for Launch >106% percent mirroring WoC 106%
The difference is AT is a much better game than WoC and Twin.
Justin Torres
The basic structure of most of the levels (save the underwater ones) is not that bad at all. They are let down by the physics and poor enemy design. Yes, definitely more work than the og trilogy, but a complete overhaul is not required. The over-abundance of vehicles is the bigger problem.
Hudson Hall
Japanese Crash is an abomination
Adrian Evans
I liked the new game.
Connor Robinson
i hate their covers too, but it's the only one that officially acknowledge WoC as crash 4.
Ethan Brooks
It doesn't have nearly as much soul as Twinsanity
Jose Reyes
Fart jokes and Crash hungry for ass is not soul.
Henry Reed
I'd rather that they just make a full on new game using WoC characters and some of it's gimmicks. And rework the story completely to remove that halfassed VR part of the story.
The levels, settings and bosses should be scrapped completely since they're pretty shit.
Clearly they should've stuck to consistent level themings that are properly tied to the mask's element.
Remove the water/submarine, plane/spaceship levels and incorporate the driving and gyroball as segments in regular levels.
Bring back the OG crash villains and introduce one new villain. Incorporate them into the level progression order as minibosses that you can defeat as you complete the levels in the world. Crunch is still the regular boss of each world, but you must defeat every level/miniboss before you can defeat him.
How about have Crunch and one of the OG villains working together during their boss fights?
Jack Peterson
I do not understand this board’s hateboner for Crash 4. It’s the only post Naughty Dog sequel that’s actually good. Everything before it was either unfinished, flawed from the start or a completely different genre.
Caleb Edwards
no its a bad game
Henry Gonzalez
that would be a pretty good and fun idea actually, would be funny to see their banters during the fight too
Carter Murphy
Because
1) it's not made by Naughty Dog 2) old good new bad 3) Zig Forums despises the art style 4) Zig Forums loses its mind in rage over Alternate!Tawna because hair colors are a thing to spend months shitting yourself over 5) it's not a 1:1 recreation of any of the OG games 6) it doesn't do what Zig Forums wants it to do
I'm surprised Zig Forums hasn't raged about the WOAH meme near the end of the game.
Thomas Mitchell
I always wanted them to take a look back at the original concept vision for Crash PS2 that was called Crash Bandicoot Worlds, when Cerny was still leading the project. Instead of doing a corridor platformer again, they should try for an ambitious, fully 3D Crash game where you explore the seamlessly connected Wumpa Islands, similar to how Jak 1 worked. You can still add plenty of choke points to tighten the pacing here and there to keep the feel of Crash, but also offer more exploration. The early games really nailed how to pull off secrets: hard to find on the first playthrough, but always fair in the sense that the game hinted at them with "something looking off in the background." It felt rewarding once you spotted them, and I think they could really dig into that exploration angle more -- as long as they keep it fair. The focus should be on uncovering hidden areas and paths, not single items obscured behind terrain detail.
Correction, almost every front. Dingodile's boss fight was awesome.
Daniel Young
Deflect harder. Crash 4 is dogshit and doesn't even have a good concept behind it, plus it's made by a team of retards.
Isaac Ross
You might be right OP. I can just tell you that i never finished this game as a little kid because the LOADING SCREENS WERE SO FUCKING SHIT. My friends and i would have all nighters playing crash bash but the 10 minute loading screens to this piece of shit game would actually put us to fucking sleep
A dumb meme being thrown in for a section most people blitz through is low on the list for a game filled to the brim with problems.
Isaac Edwards
>Crash 4 it's dogshit not quite. not everyone on the team was a retard, but there were enough of them to undermine the project. the environments, core mechanics, and level layouts work well enough, but they are let down by series of moronic design decisions.
concept art for the next game is coming along great, i see
Joshua Watson
>waaaaah it didn't do what I wanted it to do, and i'll obsess over who made it because waaaaaah You babies can't even name any specific problems that aren't TAWNA HAIR ARGH or ART STYLE TRIGGERED.
