Best fight in whole Soulsborne hands down. It saved the 3rd game from being a generic blod with streamlining and normie pandering and was a proper send-off to the series, even if the DLC area screamed asshole design. At least you can permamently get rid of Angels by killing summoners, but the fact that the Army Summoning giants respawn is the most retarded idea i've seen. Also fuck the Fat Guys.

Gael sucks because he's from the worst DLC in the entire franchise. Even if the fight is really good, he lacks in character. His sole motivation for doing things is that he wants to give the dark soul to his niece so she can paint a new world, which also makes the choices you choose at the end of the main game totally irrelevant if the current world is just gonna be discarded for a new one. His motivations are shallow and all we know of his personality is that he's really determinated about fulfiling his niece's goal and he lacks any lore of any kind. When you compare it to Artorias, who is a character mentioned countless times in the DS1 main game and is linked to plenty of other characters such as Sif and the other knights, yes, Gael is a shit character who is never developed upon beside his shitty goal and how he fought really hard for a long time which isn't original at all.

To be fair, user the whole point of the DS endings is the illusion of choice.

The Souls series is full of good actors, I wish there were more bosses that talk to you during the fight instead of just during their intro/death. Only one I can think of is Oceiros.
