Why is Yakuza so unpopular in the West?
Why is Yakuza so unpopular in the West?
It's set in Japan and made for a Japanese audience first and foremost.
0 marketing
>Calling Taiwan a country
I can already hear the sound of many angry buzzing insects coming this way
what's a yakuza?
Marketting like they did with 0 and 6 would help
I bought Yakuza 0 on sale and tried it for the first time a few days ago, and honestly I was really let down. It's starts off pretty impressive, and then the combat turns out to be mediocre (albeit with some Streets of Rage style nostalgia), a lot of unvoiced dialog, and I don't think I'm going to like the MC who seems like a generic stoic badass/asshole with a heart of gold. You can't enter any of the interesting buildings, just where the game wants you to go, and if you so much as nudge someone walking they will stop for sever seconds before slowly continuing. It's a shame because walking the city at night felt pretty good.
It's been a long time since a game has filtered me in the first hour.
Not enough brown people
yakuza 6
>why is a japanese game, set in japan, with japanese references for a japanese audience not popular in the west
also that graph is hideous
Because we hate movie games
yeah I feel the same way, don't hate it, just not for me, walking around at night is pretty cool though
It fails because true gamers are not interested in its garbage combat.
It fails beause fake gamers, casuals and noobs who "play" 0 risk of failure interactive movies will simply play the western dogshit STORY "games" such as witccher 3, gta5, rdr2, mass effect etc.
Only autistic weebs are into yakuza.
Yakuza: Like a Dragon fails especially hard because it also changed its garbage real time combat to a garbage turn based combat, alienating certain fans.
Truth hurts, get over it.
whites only play something mutt-y. they love globohomo diversity multiculturalism and mutt consoomism like hollywood.
too japanese for people who don't like japanese games, not japanese enough for people who do
what is that picture trying to convey
Nobody but you mentioned it, though
He's from reddit
That the poster is a retarded soulsdrone
Here we have two separate cases of autists trying way too hard to look cool and fit in.
You might like yakuza 7 more. The bland mc is replaced with a fun doofus.
whites never buy games with all asian cast unless its ninja and samurai and shit. thats why siren bombed while sh is worshiped.
nobody plays that on PS4, either PC or xbox since that is where all of the advertising was
Asian crime/big city culture isn't cool no matter how hard the marketing tries to claim it is.
The change from beat 'em up to RPG was hated even by fans (myself included)
I would have bought it it was just the good and old combat.
but elden ring isnt even out, why put it on there, im so confused
>Gook land has more larger playerbase than Japan
Please tell me the graph is poorly calculated.
Turn based isn't really popular in the west anymore.
>SK
>TW
What? I thought gook hate jap cultures?
they only play mutt thug games. yuros are utter ameriboos no matter what they say.
its not bad at all that games set in asia only for asians exist. anglos and yuros can play their woke aaa games set in a multikulti society.
test
>US is 15 percent of the playerbase
what did they mean by this?
You're meant to go 'ooooh' and give him reddit gold for having such impeccable taste
aznz and niggaz
I like Yakuza, I just don't want Yakuza in turn-based RPG form.
We've already got plenty of those, not nearly enough beat em ups.
this
I've literally never heard anything about Yakuza marketing for any of their games. I got Kiwami because it was free on PSN awhile ago and heard the originals were fun, it was a blast. similarly with yakuza 7, the only thing I heard about it was some news on Zig Forums when it was revealed to be turn based and then when it came out.
