it really doesn’t. it’s a shonen anime but with less structure. 90% percent of the characters are interchangable. it’s deep in the sense that you need a flowchart to even follow what’s going on, but there is no deeper meaning or message beyond what it tells you from the very beginning. it’s for children.

In order to time travel to the future, you need memories of future people who know you. When Maleficent returned at Yen Sid's tower. Merryweather was about to speak and Flora covered her mouth, telling her to speak or remember. But it was too late.Three Good Fairies scrambled to not remember the evil fairy.
Why? The memory of maleficent was the point that she'd have to lock in on. as you have a presence regardless of alive or dead, so long as you have even a piece of you existing and present in some point of time, you can time travel straight to it, and as Maleficent demonstrated in KH2, it's possible to even return from your "death".
Why would the faeries know about time travel? How did they come to the conclusion that Maleficent was using it despite her doing so from a digital world copy contained in the foreteller books?
