Give one (1) good rebuttal to this.
If you played a game for that long it was AT LEAST a good enough game.
The sunk cost fallacy. Past a certain point, players will continue to play a bad game if their previous time investment is great enough.
>dude, if you smoked cigarettes everyday for two years that means it must be good for you and you should recommend it!
But you just said yourself it is a fallacy.
I'm an irrational person and an idiot. Your game is still shit
user...
How is that relevant?
>4000 hours in a game
>dev releases update rebalance which ruins the core gameplay
/thread
Game was not shit at the start but then game became shit via retarded updates
They're all bad except CS:S. Dota and Rust have their moments.
What a lazy fucking comic
find the nearest three story building or higher, go to the roof and throw yourself off.
>enjoy the game
>put a patch that break everything
>"you game is shit"
>"nu-uh, you played it a lot! doesn't count !"
Dota is by far the worst of the bunch
Not necessarily.
Maybe he tried in vain to like it and forced himself to play it, only to come to the conclusion that the game was shit all along and he just wasted his time.
The justification is the fallacy.
>spent a lot of time on a game that gets patched into something less fun
>get to the 'endgame' of a game and its flaws overshadow the rest
>you spent all that time in a heavily modded version of the game
>F2P gamers
If the players are retarded enough to keep playing a bad game if they think their previous time investment makes it worth it, then fuck them.
Almost every MMO.
A-user, what the fuck are you doing ?
If you're fucking stupid enough to play a bad game because you want some pseudo-return on investment, then it's your fault.
Define "bad." 8/10 or lower?
Cigarettes are physically addictive. If you make a game as addictive as cigarettes you made a fantastic game.
Nigger you can find that out with 100 hours, not 4 fucking thousand
OK? How does that prove the game isn't bad

I regret nothing

I'm just starting to enjoy the best singleplayer games it's a long term strategy[/spoiler[
Anything that doesn't immediately come to head as having been enjoyed.

What the fuck
You spend 3-6 thousand hours playing games and don't recall having a good time in them?
Did you just leave it open 24/7? Is that the total number of hours since the launch?
>>you spent all that time in a heavily modded version of the game
This is the most reasonable answer so far
You can definitely squeeze out a few hundred more hours of play time, with just a handful of good gameplay mods, along some cosmetic changes.
Must be why Skyrim became so popular
Having been enjoyed recently. For singleplayer, it's if I finished it plus enjoyed it.
Oh, that's the point you are arguing? Nah, it could be a bad game.
I have almost 4k hours in Dota 2 and for 99% of it I was playing with friends.
I wouldn't recommend Dota 2, or even say it's a great game, if you're gonna play it solo
>If you make a game as addictive as cigarettes you made a fantastic game
only if your priority is getting people playing it at whatever the cost, which I absolutely disagree as the absolute metric to judge a game by.
it might be financially optimal for the devs, but that doesn't mean the game or the practice should be immune to criticism.
Good post
I'll take a crack addict
The most time I've spent on a genuinely bad game (not counting when I was a kid and had to play whatever SNES games I could get my hands on) was about 5 hours. It was a game called Banished for Steam, and as a simulation game, unfortunately I needed to spend that much time to tell it was broken.
That was the whole point in the first place, so yeah
1900,5 days -- 681,25 days
Steam hasn't been out for that long either, so huh?
What?
hours to days dummy
because if i spend less, you will use another buzzword telling me
>i didn't play enough
>i'm not good enough
>i didn't see the good part
