fuck no

i live in the past so yes

TERA was raped and burned alive 5 years ago and BDO went insanely P2W only to give out free PENs a couple months later in a desperate attempt to bring the playerbase back after going insanely P2W 2 years ago, so there has been nothing to play for at least 2 years.

No but I think about playing WoW again once in a while but my laptop can’t handle it and I have a fuckton of music saved on it since I DJ now. Then I also remember it was only fun when 10 of my friends/family/coworkers were playing with me.

I honestly don’t play video games anymore, let alone MMOs.

>Tired of spending all my time and money on a game that will just get erased one day (All MMORPGs)
>I don't want to put a large amount of effort in a community that only wants you to pay out the ass for free shit and don't have any sense of loyalty.
>Guild systems suck in nearly every game and they're always shit when you want to lead one.
>Cash shop bullshit in games that make guilds pay2win over effort
>Lazy ass people that refuse to do the smallest bit of work when they're online or afk for hours
>Game doesn't even feel like it will last longer than a year before it shuts down
>People severely don't want to hang out and make friends
Seriously, go make a guild in any game and see how shit the experience is.
Side note, I loved TERA but it's been circling the drain for years and I just can't bring myself to go back and waste time there.

*Pay out the ass (real money) for free shit to give THEM* Literally just leeching from you until you get tired of it and then they fuck off to the next person to leech off of if they're not already doing it on alt characters.

>remember playing oldschool runescape in my senior year of highschool
>it's now been longer between my last day of highschool and me the present than when oldschool runescape came out compared to runescape 2007
it fucking hurts.

I get intensely into OSRS for a week or two every few months before realizing that I'm wasting my time and letting my membership lapse. I love the game but I wish most of the content wasn't extremely grindy and boring before endgame.

That's why I only by membership in 3 month increments. I usually get through 2 months before I start getting ready to take another break.

That's what happened to me this last time. I played for about a month and a half and almost got my main to base 80s. League is fun but I got burnt out on it quick.

I say there's nothing wrong with that. I use runescape as a space filler in my life when I just want to chill out from the rest of the world for a while.

Fair. I still enjoy it even though I've been playing for almost 15 years. I usually jump back into it once I run out of other games to play, which has been happening pretty frequently now since 99% of modern games don't interest me. It's a great thing to play on those nights where I do nothing but browse Zig Forums and watch youtube.

Leagues is great until you have to jump from the 16x xp, double attack speed and triple drop rate into a boring quest that takes 1+ hour to complete

It completely takes away the momentum of an otherwise fun gamemode

Ironman btw

What's wrong with your client?

Better Renderer plugin has some issues at the moment, I'm just testing out the draw distance stuff.

It's a cheat client. RS players don't actually like to play the game, but don't want to be banned and lose their 10 thousand hours of progress so they use a client that highlights all of the objectives of the game for them.

If use the wiki for any reason you're a hypocrite.

You know it.
Hopped around MMOs for the past 16+ years, and witnessed the meteoric rise, dominance, stagnation, and miserable decline of the genre as a whole.
Hell of a ride it's been, no doubt of that.

The current era of surviving MMORPGs is just depressing, however.
A formerly-promising platform plagued by horrifying pay2win practices from what few Korean imports continue to eek-out a meager existence siphoning their supply of delusional ultra-whales, and dull themeparks besides.
So I've gone back to revisit some old classics in their stead.

Been having a blast with FFXI for the last several months.
Just finished Wings of the Goddess, almost a full decade after its final missions were released to wrap-up that ever-divisive expansion.
Can certainly see where its criticism is founded. It's absurdly long and loaded with inconvenient waiting periods, but the story's still a treat when taken in its entirety, and that's what matters most.
Honestly gonna miss Cait Sith. She was such a doll in every scene; easily the best character of that entire saga barring Lilisette.
