Name me one reason why is 95 degrees not normal

Wait until summer and you’ll hear the real complaints

Plastic melts at 95
The ps5 is plastic

95c is the max for most cpus
even under load my pc cpu doesn't get higher than 60c

>Last thread got autosaged
What level of damage control are we at?
It's within 5% of what most manufacturers consider to be damaging for their semiconductor hardware, and this was a bench test with plenty of ventilation.

source your ass

So how hot does the PS5 cpu get?
It's confirmed that the GDDR6 in it runs around 90C, which is normal for that but I haven't seen anyone confirm what temps the cpu runs at.
On PC if cpu reaches 100C it shuts down if I remember right.

>Safety
>Computer motherboards are loaded with a basic operating system called a BIOS that will make a computer shut down if the CPU temperature surpasses a certain level; the exact shut down temperature will vary based on the BIOS settings, but generally ranges from 70 to 100 degrees Celsius.

source your dilation wound

Sonybros... it's done

Be honest, Zig Forums, You get nervous at 70c.

Why the hell do people buy new hardware without waiting to see if it works properly first?

It's like the red ring of death never happened.

I get nervous at 50c

Because we must consoom

My pc is 87 88 when gaming
is that bad?

I just want...

amd.com/en/products/apu/amd-ryzen-5-4500u
just picked a random cpu 105c is max temp allowed

ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/195436/intel-core-i5-10210u-processor-6m-cache-up-to-4-20-ghz.html
100c max allowed temp

because its near boiling point?
Bitch i get uncomfortable when mine reaches the 80s

This but literally

>Speccy used to tell me my cpu was at 400 degrees.
I know it's not possible and it'd shut down automatically, but I always wonder if it really did get that hot. Did I have a miniture sun being created in my PC all that time? Is that why there were holes in my floor?

Sonybros i'm not feeling so good right now...

Speaking of hot cleaned computer other day and think I found a full cat in it

i can see why you are a console owner

No, it’s entirely normal

nervous at 70
uncomfortable at 80
i turn it off if it touches 90

>It's confirmed that the GDDR6 in it runs around 90C, which is normal
Source?
Micron, one of the manufacturers, lists 95 as a MAX, not as a normal.
micron.com/products/ultra-bandwidth-solutions/gddr6
EVGA users show max benchmarks of 72
forums.evga.com/GDDR6-FTW3-operating-temperatures-m2873605.aspx

Reaching max = generally a bad idea because that's the point where the hardware becomes unstable by manufacturer benchmarks. And this was on a bench with plenty of ventilation, not inside of the case, inside of the case it likely gets even hotter.

This shouldn't be a normal temperature range for it. Or if it is then PS5s dying is an easy thing to explain.

My 2010 360 elite works fine, my 2013 xbone works fine, my one x works fine and my SX works fine. But stay stuck in 07 with the 360 fiasco i guess

consistent high heat can be bad for electronics, if they run hot for extended periods of time

All makes sense now

Clean out your fans and heatsinks

>105 is bad
>ps5 is 95
so what is your point?

People acting so surprised at stock shortages, scalping, design flaws, as if there was no possible way to avoid this when they could have just waited like a month.

This happens to me when I clean, too
try knitting a new cat.

apparently it helps if you take off the plastic covers

cpus never get hotter than 60 even with the stock cooler

100C is 212 degrees fahrenheit, so no.

so what now

Yes, pretty bad

clean out your fans and heatsinks
replace your thermal paste

I also get bad readings from speccy often

learn to read.
105C is the max it allows
doesn't mean its good before that.
you always have to shoot for a cool temperature that is nowhere near that.

Not him, but that's within 5% tolerance, and this was on a bench outside of the case.
Past 100 it dies, so what do you think is happening to all of the PS5s that are just falling over dead? 5% is not a good temperature, even under load. That's "It's hot enough at this temp to cause stress fractures in the solder if ran for high periods of time but not hot enough to shut down" levels. CPUs don't run at 90C all of the time for this reason.

>replace your thermal paste
how
fuck I will buy a series x

lmao PS5 literally be fire *flame emoji*

I'm only nervous at 90

igorslab.de/en/gddr6x-am-limit-ueber-100-grad-bei-der-geforce-rtx-3080-fe-im-chip-gemessen-2/

>it was unanimously agreed that the maximum temperature Ttot before the start of a possible destruction of the chip should be 120 °C and that Tjunction should probably be set at 105 °C or for the GDDR6X even at 110 °C is specified as the maximum value.

95C on a 22C ambient, mind you.
That thing is going to melt during summer.

95 is the cpu casing. The silicone is even hotter.

Attached: 1446123085954.png (698x840, 783.54K)

you take the cpu cooler off
remove old paste
put new paste on

105 is the max allowed
that is when the system will shutdown due to high temps
a consistent 95 isn't good especially since any proper cpu will be throttling itself to avoid going higher

The CPU is liquid metal. It can't melt.

Attached: 1517534088822.png (953x1282, 495.46K)

Because most CPUs and GPUs run the die at around 50-60c.
Anything over 70c will reduce the quality of your IC over time.
On PC it's not much of an issue because you can just lower the clock and keep using the part most of the time.
But on a console, if you can't run it at spec, it's toast.

>how
my god, user...

stop being retarded

Could someone link the video where they test the cpu temps? I've only seen the one where they test the ram temps and I would like to be up to date.
