aesthetically (cutscenes, character designs, music), it's good, promising even. but the actual in-game graphics look fucking terrible, Square is a billion dollar company, it should not look that bad. thankfully I expect it will look a lot better when it's closer to release. i just think maybe this trailer came out too early

It had a fucking fantastic world to explore and fuck around in A soundtrack that put nearly all others to shame, I still listen to it to this day gameplay that made FULL use of the DS' features And a cast of likable and loveable characters with real, believable development. It also had an actually coherent lore that was interesting to uncover and some great QoL like letting you decrease game difficulty mid-game for lower reward and vice-versa, and a nutty progression system that was basically Materia on crack It also had tons of nice little things, great side-stories in the world

The best part of TWEWY was how it never let characters that might otherwise be 2D tropes just be that way. Convincing Neku (and sometimes the player) that everyone had more going on under the surface than immediately apparent was a great message to explore
