What specs would a Switch Pro realistically have?

What specs would a Switch Pro realistically have?

900p screen at most
twice the performance of current Switch

that's it, not expecting much more, those are quite conservative features

I'm expecting at least PS4 to PS4 Pro level of performance

Hopefully the joycons aren’t total shit this time around.

DLSS capabilities

A chip with at least 2048 qubits.

Would be kino

Xbox One level power with DLSS would put it above PS4 pro

That's what i want to see

It will be a dock only that gives it extra CPU power, RAM, and an extra GPU so it can output to 4K TVs or have it run games at 60 FPS 1080p.

If they were to do a portable, it will still keep the shitty joycon system but the screen will most likely be almost bezel-less and 900 - 1080p micro LED.

Better quality screen
Tegra Xavier
Maybe 64-128GB internal storage
More RAM maybe?
That's about it, I wouldn't expect any dramatic upgrades since those would be reserved for their next generation system in 2023, not a mid-gen refresh.

I just want better fps and load times. Don't really care about being 4k or anything. Sick of Warframe playing like a slideshow (and them not giving me a way to escape to PC but that's another story).

OP here, I'll also say If Nvidia is still working with Nintendo, I expect it to be two Pro consoles with different use cases. Nvidia would probably work with Nintendo to release the successor to the both the Shield TV and Shield Tablet so they can continue with shilling DLSS and GeForce cloudstreaming/remote play.

1440P 90Hz OLED screen

There is no need to settle for anything less if phones can do this.

Based, dlss would be pretty fucking useful

>Dock only
>Same resolution, but more powerful specs to reach consistent 60fps
>more USB ports
>built in ethernet port

That is all, thats what i want. Ive never used it in handheld and probably never will

Attached: 1605827114647.jpg (2000x2828, 1.92M)

Portable screen resolution is a meme.
Screen isn't issue. It should stay 720p, but games should run at native resolution.

Whatever it has, I'm hoping for DLSS 2.0 and VRS support, those two things would be game changers for a handheld

Maybe
2021 Switch Pro 2TF
2024 Switch 2 5TF with DLSS

>There is no need to settle for anything less if phones can do this
Those phones are also triple the price of a switch. is it worth the increase in price

it will be a mini led screen, and it will use dlss. probably have gpu and processing power as a base ps4.

nah, you can get a 1080p phone for like $100 or less now.

>Can play on tv with the whole console as the controller

Thats all I want, i dont want them to abandon what make the ds, 3ds (and wii u) great.
The second screen and touch controls for inventory/maps/etc

>DLSS 2.0
If the switch pro is even close to the power of a base ps4 or xbone this won't just be a game changer, they would be able to directly compete with the ps5 and xbox series x/s.

16-bit BLAST PROCESSING
anything less is worthless

>bigger screen, 900p,made from glass not plastic,
>more ram/storage
>newer revision of tegra cpu/gpu
>same/worse battery life
>no more drift

costs 100 usd above a regular switch

it should be at least as strong as the XB one X or the PS4 pro, and be permadocket, the protable mode would most likely prevent it from being stronger

Expecting Nintendo to match the specs of the SeriesX or PS5 is a pipe dream

This complete screen on the front is what I'd love to have on the Switch already, but if Nintendo would consider this then that'd be cool.

depends on whether or not they want games to run on the original switch too.

Hopefully it still goes for 720p handheld and 1080p docked so that games actually run at 60fps

It doesn't need a pro version
just needs more and better games that don't cost stupid money

What's the point of a switch pro if devs still have to make their games playable on the lite?

Portability is part of the appeal of the switch. I like playing it in bed or on the toilet or while watching something on TV.

>oled
>dlss

>540p 25fps is fine

Whatever NVidia and Nintendo agree upon.

When the Switch was conceived, it was technically the best mobile SoC in the market. NVidia was lapsed on making mobile/Shield SoCs and fell behind as ARM tech progressed drastically. Now it's anyone's guess on what Tegra board could power a future version of Switch. The only thing that's likely is that the next iteration may have Tensor cores.

Bread and circuses

Attached: shaq.jpg (600x450, 33.4K)

I didn't even know the switch was as powerful as the 360, never really shows

If they have DLSS 2.0, they can have the games render in 480p and have DLSS upscale them to 1080p and above, and if the Switch Pro is as powerful as a ps4/xbox one. This would allow them to run current gen titles, minus ray tracing.

>NVidia was lapsed on making mobile/Shield SoCs and fell behind as ARM tech progressed drastically.
didn't Nvidia acquire ARM?

Not much different from the current one.

You're looking at 350 USD at most.

as much as i want this, you and anyone else expecting it to be on par with the x or pro are delusional.
the base switch isnt even as powerful as a base xbone or ps4, so youre expecting damn near double performance from an upgraded version of a switch which is just unrealistic. If theyre going for a performance leap that big, it wouldnt be a switch, and games would have to be pro exclusive to take advantage of the switch pros added performance, which would just be suicide for nintendo considering how new the switch is and how its still a hot seller

its like suggesting that the xbox360 release a pro version to be on par with the xbox one, its just not delusional

4k 60fps steam compatibility

ok then if you want at a minimum 60fps and 720p then it gets bigger, heavier, more expensive and at that point you might as well have bought a normal console

Nintendo is no where near making something as powerful as last gen, as small as the switch and at an affordable price.
I am not bothered by graphics that are a bit shit, thats not why you would ever want a switch. You play it for the motion controls and being able to play it wherever you like.

and I agree, but I can't possible see a portable being much stronger, and I don't see the point of a new Switch model if it's not a real upgrade over the current one.

That's implied from the "anyone's guess" part, seeing how they could just make a custom version of Orin instead of settling for X2.

There will never be a dock only version. Handheld is why it's selling.

Switch 2 will feasibly be somewhere in that power range but a mid-gen Pro model slated for next year? Nah. Weaker than base PS4 but by a low enough amount that 8th gen AAA ports would be more feasible though.

>1440p
IT DOESN'T NEED THAT YOU ABSOLUTE FAG SMALL SCREENS ARE FINE WITH 720P WHY DO YOU WANT TO DRIVE THE PRICE UP FOR NO REASON

...

I often forget how shitty the specs of the actual thing are kek 3 generations behind....

giwtwm

Probably would benefit Labo VR if it runs old games in better resolutions.

>thats not why you would ever want a switch. You play it for the motion controls and being able to play it wherever you like.
Listen retard, i bought a switch because it‘s the newest nintendo console and i want to play the newest nintendo games not because it has some shitty gimmick that lets toddlers take their tablet with them

Your reasoning is why I think the Pro is two consoles, a dock only and an upgraded hybrid.

They're just gonna shrink the x1 again. People are expecting too much.
