So can we all agree that, regardless of your overall opinion on it, Undertale is an alright game at least right up until the point this autistic, sweaty meme-gremlin joins it?
Up until that point:
>Ruins
>Snowdin
>Waterfall area
>Only joke character is Papyrus who in the genocide option comes into focus in his purpose, to be the character that acts as a point of no return
>Undyne hasn't had her villain decay yet
>If you will or won't be forced to gank the King is still up in the air but you've got this distinct impression that he's not a complete monster and the layers of ambiguity are building.
Seriously, name a problem before Alphys comes into it.

Attached: Alphys.jpg (315x283, 15.92K)

was trying to think of something fun after alphys shows up but besides the mettaton fight, the amalgams, and asgore, there isnt really anything.

Agreed, I was pretty convinced watching a playthrough that I might have missed something about Undertale until it went full Trannyera

>was trying to think of something fun after alphys shows up but besides the best fucking parts of the game there's nothing

Oh, I'm not saying the game is shit after she appears. I do think she drags down the quality of her own section and the whole mettaton area is clearly overdone.
I'm just saying it's like there's a clear delimitation point between the plot before she appears and the plot afterwards.

People also only think she's cute because 'Tee hee lesbians'. Imagine a rule 63 version of her.
Just this fat, autistic nerd that's been watching you on a camera and you walk in to find him sitting there without any pants on basically before he offers to show you his candy va-I mean, help you escape, when in reality it's all about feeding his own narcissism.

The mettaton segments made up for it, however if your humor doesn't align with the game's I can easily see the skeletons being very annoying, plus Ruins can feel like fetish bait with how you can flirt with Toriel. Waterfall was a pretty good area in general though, however random encounters don't suit the game, especially how in a pacifist playthrough you interact with many of the same monsters (you can find aaron a lot for example) however he'll still fight you despite sparing/killing him in prior encounters, its not that big of a deal, but its a loss on flavor

>(you can find aaron a lot for example) however he'll still fight you despite sparing/killing him in prior encounters
Pretty he's just a monster species. In fact the game seems to emphasize when certain random encounter monsters are special (Snowdrake can only be killed once, at which point Chilldrake will start showing up. Shyren can only be encountered and spared/killed once)

you only meet my wives after alphys

No one care about Alphys, post Catti instead

This game was really boring and I don't understand the hype. I grinded in the beginning and for some reason all the bosses die in 1hit. The save points tell you how many encounters you need to level up and it takes forever to make those fuckers spawn. The towns were empty and almost all fights die in 1hit except for undyne and sans. I really don't understand why people liked it. Very shitty grindfest IMO.

Have my favorite Catty.

>Watching a playthrough
Ironic you complain about trannyera, when you yourself need to go there.

Alphys is the worst character by a country mile except only Hotland is bad. Core is pretty good, Asgore and Flowey is pretty great, and then the true lab and ending is great. Genocide also has no Alphys

>post Catti
>posts Catty

do you remember tomorrow is her birthday

Based

Oh ok, that's a weird name for a species I guess

Someone tell me, what's so good about the game? I don't even really care for RPGs (I only played that one Mario game where you are inside bowser), and that I never completed despite playing for like 2 weeks straight.
Will the rest of Deltarune come out? Is the creator a sellout who let the money and 'theories' get to his head like Scott did? Why should I play it if the game punishes you for playing it like an actual RPG and not some shitty visual novel, and why do your choices do literally nothing to change the outcome of Deltarune's ending?

no, since when

If i'm being honest here, everything about this game's forgettable but the characters, and I'm not surprised either. Toby did a good job on the Undertale cast.

based catti & bratti chads

>he doesn't know
ayy

I was genuinely enjoying the game until this bitch showed up. She's every negative nerd stereotype, except I guess it's supposed to be funny/ironic because its a girl? Problem is, it doesn't work. She ain't funny or endearing. She's just gross.

i don't know, i just played the game and fap to art i find
give me the birthday scoop, toby

lmao

Undertale was good, the community was a mistake

>was trying to think of something fun after aphys shows up but I could think of anything except literally everything that happens after that part
The fuck?

>Someone tell me, what's so good about the game?
I enjoyed the atmosphere, the music was excellent, and being a casual shmup player I enjoyed the gameplay even if it was mostly too easy save for the most prominent boss fights. The humor is hit or miss but I enjoyed like 70% of it. I like puns and wordplay so that's no surprise.
>Will the rest of Deltarune come out?
Probably.
>Is the creator a sellout who let the money and 'theories' get to his head like Scott did?
Deltarune was supposedly his original idea. Some elements of it most likely have changed, but the ending has most likely been set in stone for a long time now.
>Why should I play it if the game punishes you for playing it like an actual RPG
There's only one method of attack, it's not the end of the world if you don't use it. Getting more HP and making the already easy combat even easier is pointless.
>and why do your choices do literally nothing to change the outcome of Deltarune's ending?
They do change a part of the ending.

>Someone tell me, what's so good about the game?
Its funny, has great cast of characters, and you can see just how pasionate people making this game were
>Will the rest of Deltarune come out?
No, its coming out in 4 years
>Is the creator a sellout who let the money and 'theories' get to his head like Scott did?
No, since he is creating game from ideas he didn't use in undertale, using his orginal vision
> Why should I play it if the game punishes you for playing it like an actual RPG and not some shitty visual novel
Game never punishes you for how you play, if you play it like grindfest you get best gear possible to get, since its what grinder would probably want
>and why do your choices do literally nothing to change the outcome of Deltarune's ending?
Literaly untrue, even now the way you play it influences ending of demo

>hm?

>What's so good about the game
It sort of dampens it having it explained, putting it bluntly the game does a good job playing with the expecations of people who play it blind after only seeing the promotional material and demo. The characters usually can be pretty charming, and there' a surprising attention to detail to tons of things that hint future events or traits of their character. Also the battle system is akin to the more gimmicky/active turnbased games like mario and luigi or paper mario if you liked the concept of that. If you don't like the humor it'll be shit though.
>will the rest of Deltarune come out
The guy has been dumping time and seems to have hired people, his issues seem to be pressure on making the game good, he however has all of the incentives to release it, its not a yandere sim scenario where he actively is paid while not finishing it
>is he a sellout
All he makes appeals to the same crowd, he has not been milking the games though, seeing as how its 5 years since he released undertale and he is still making his second one, we don't know enough about dr if he is taking theories/pandering
>why should I play it if the game punishes you
You're not supposed to metagame Undertale for your first playthrough, just do things you want and save anything else you're interested in for future playthroughs. The game however makes it really clear when you are doing the "evil" route and there are also many characters you shouldn't want to kill

>play deltarune
>meet catti
>big kitty goth girl who even works at a diner for maximum food fetish possibilities
>oh she's catty's sister
>oh catty still exists
>catty is even bigger and is overly touchy-feely and there isn't a bratty to distract her
>mfw toby, not content with cornering the mommy market with toriel, has branched into the grabby wine aunt market as well

Wow, I hate this.

What is it with the pathetically severe victim complexes when posting about this game? It's okay that people don't like it

the fanbase latched on to that kind of character because SHE'S LITERALLY ME OMG
burn alphys and all alphys enjoyers

I wanna piledrive alphys's scaly pussy so her part of the game only makes it better for me

She's annoying, but also pretty hot, so I dunno...

a catty is fine too

Lots of the people who are like that just like it that much. I'd say this thread doesn't have many of that though, since its people talking about poor parts of the game. However there are also severe autists who will call the game shit in every instance they can because they also hate it that much

>Ruins
It's really unfortunate that Toby introduced a great plot idea making use if save files to change the outcome of the game that could have had many branching paths and puzzle-solving dependent on all your earlier decisions, but then he went on to make an almost entirely linear story. The intro was just heartwarming enough and just threatening enough with Toriel's betrayal that there was promise for an actually significantly meaningful plot, and he really just dropped the ball after the demo.
>Snowdin
After leaving the ruins, you meet Sans and Papyrus who were tailormade to appeal to autistic tumblrites. This is the point in the game where it all goes downhill, because any aspect of challenge and intrigue is buried under cringe meme humor and all of Toriel's talk about extreme danger beyonf the ruins turns out to be a huge lie. You're walking into a hugbox full of friendly faces and bad jokes, and on top of that, the game barely offers any challenge to engage the player with combat-wise. How many times did you die in Undertale? Personally, I died twice while achieving the intended neutral ending.
>Waterfall
Nothing much to say here. Puzzles a five year old can solve and a completely linear path amounting to nothing interesting.
>Only joke character is Papyrus
Every character in this game is a joke. That's one of its biggest problems.
>Undyne
The boulder suplex was never funny. Ironically, if you had an actual choice of being pushed far enough to kill her, the game could have still veen salvaged. Unfortunately, Toby doesn't like to give the player a choice.
>Whether or not you'll be forced to kill the King is still in question
From a blind playthrough's perspective? Maybe. The problem here is that Toby never really gives you a choice to make. You can reasonably guess that you will be forced to do one or the other because you have so little say in what happens in the rest if the game. Killing a basic monster or not changes nothing except for xp total.

Flowey.
