Finished Origami King. Man, this game is fantastic. They took everything good about Color Splash and make it even better.
Presentation, visual, humour, plot, dungeons, puzzles and bossfights - everything is top notch. Now this is my second favourite title in the series after TTYD.
I should mentioned that regural battles acting as a punishment for the player - if you fucked up puzzle or wasn't fast enough - you are fined with boring slow pointless battle. "Partners" in this game practically useless without logical reasons. OST is a bit of lackluster compared to Color Splash. At least this shit is groovin': youtube.com/watch?v=QzFVyJl4SHQ&ab_channel=zSupremoz
Was this game even nominated this year? GOTY contender for me.
I'm thinking I might get this soon. I got a couple of questions: Does the battle system get boring after a while? and How long is it?
Jack James
>Does the battle system get boring after a while? All regular battles are waste of time. All bossfights are fantastic. You can get stealth-camo somewhere in the middle of game so you can ignore 90% of fights.
>How long is it? This game is HUGE. I played it four full days.
beat the game in 2 days, so its not that long, less you want to 100% it. the battles are okay since each world brings on a new battle theme and a new group of enemies.
Robert Bailey
Yes, but special encounters and bosses are pretty fun.
I spent around 15 hours with my playthrough, just enjoying the sights.
>Man, this game is fantastic. They took everything good about Color Splash and make it even better. Seeing as there was fuck all amount of good in color splash. Congrats I guess.
Logan Clark
It was nominated for best family game, which i think is fair It's not the best paper mario game or GOTY material but I thought it was pretty fun
Isaac Price
My game of the year contender is an actual RPG. Yakuza: Like a Dragon. Yes Too long for the meager amount of content available.
Nathaniel Nelson
>OST is a bit of lackluster compared to Color Splash
just watch in a decade everybody will be saying "Origami King was underrated" "Origami King was the last good PM" "I loved Origami King"
Owen Roberts
>Mario's surrogate son and surrogate daughter both die
>best family game
lol
Sebastian King
Glad to hear at least some people are enjoying the game. What did you think of the battle system mechanics? That's usually the main complaint I hear about it, the battles are kinda pointless cause no xp progression system.
Joshua Miller
I'll do you one better. Paper Mario was never good and TOK is the best one thanks to distancing itself from those other games.
>Does the battle system get boring after a while? It gets boring very quickly since devs weren't smart enough to give you a good incentive to fight >How long is it? Not that long
Jayden Morales
That game with crabs was one of my favourite in childhood. Was it titled simply "Mario Bros."? Don't remember.
Does it have 60 hours of boring dialog and shitty average gameplay? No Is it cinematic? No Does it have LGBT? No Does the gameplay require you to use your brain? Yes
Lol, how do you expect it to be goty?
Charles Perez
It is very artistic. Snobs might enjoy it.

This is sad that BotW get praised when both Color Splash and Origami King are better LoZ-esque games with fucking brilliant dungeons and boss fights.
i'll say i played it, you say i didn't play enough of it, i say i played most of it, you say i didn't finish it, i say i finished it and you'll say 'WELL IT COULDN'T BE THAT SHIT IF YOU FINISHED IT!!!!!!!' i know how this fucking loop works retard, color splash sucked ass and if the best defense you can muster for it is shitpost reaction images from a game you likely didn't play either then i just kind of pity you.
