Upgraded from this to an i9 last year.

Bought a Xeon E3-1231 v3 for like $60 on ali and sold my i5 4460 for $50. Feeling comfy.

had to put mine to bed, got a 9600k replacement.

i have a 5600x sitting in a box next to me, just waiting for my mobo to arrive. thank you for your service 4690k, 6 kino years of games. you will never be forgotten.

those are both in the haswell family, can you feel much of a difference?
t. sandy bridge poorfag

still have mine laying around as well as like 3 other old CPU

>got 4690k since it was cheap with a mobo bundle
>still using it because poor neet
>still haven't gotten around to overclocking it
I really should...

I play warhammer 2 on near max settings at 4k with a 1080ti and mobo auto overclocking. It struggles once battles hit 80 units on the screen but still manages. My graphics card hits its thermal throttle from that which I think plays the part.

4 cores is no longer enough.

>rtx 3070
>2600x
>cant get a 5600x cpu cause not sold in country
>dec 10 is getting closer
fugg :---DDDD

I left a nice oily fingerprint on mine for luck

I don't want to put my 4790k out to the pasture. She's been so good to me.

>that creaking noise when you put the lever down

i should have got one of these instead of the 9700

>a 10900K isn't even 50% faster than a 4690K in single core performance
For a 6 year period that's like nothing man

what the fuck has intel even been doing the last 10 years man, posting on Zig Forums?? maybe they could make some good cpus if they'd stop making vib ribbon threads every 5 seconds

>have to upgrade mobo, ram, possibly psu, and reinstall os if i want to upgrade from my i5
nervous

Why upgrade?

Running i56500 with a 5600xt
I can run Cyberpunk 2077 in 1440p high r-r-right?

Attached: 1571518753367.png (378x406, 247.24K)

you probaly only need a new motherboard, the rest will be fine

are there new mobos that even still support 4th gen i5s

>another sandy bridge bro
how's it hanging

I did the same but with a 1240, chink xeons are great for poorfag stations.

"Ring ring", it's for you user.

comfy

>FX 8350
>GTX 1060 6GB
Is it the best? Fuck no, but it has performed way better than it should have, I'll be upgrading next year.

Come home white man.

Attached: I7-4790k.jpg (499x500, 29.88K)

well there are X99 boards you can get on aliexpress that are basically cobbled together junk. i was gonna pull the plug on these haswell xeons but i realize that if something goes wrong you're completely and utterly fucked. beware

Is it even worth it to buy intel anymore? Might as well go over to Ryzen if planing to change mobo.

you fags memed me out of this back in the day and I got the 4690k instead

A lot less stuttering, maybe 5% boost in perfomance. This xeon is basically i7 3770 without graphics.

>4670K
>gtx1070
I'm starting to suffer...
What are my options bros?

What do you guys think... Switching the Motherboard CPU and RAM and buying a SSD seems fair

Attached: Speccy.png (1680x1050, 242.94K)

i5 4670k and 1070 SC
There's nothing I can't run at good or above.

1080p?

at this point either try to find a cheap best socket CPU or build a new PC

>750 Ti

I'd splurge on a new gpu if I were you lel.

Yeah, 1080p 144hz

>there are people in 2020 still using ddr3

Attached: get out.jpg (560x510, 105.87K)

I just yesterday bought a Ryzen 7 3700X to replace mine

i'm in the same boat...
JUST

Real question.
What do people do with their old hardware when you upgrade?
I am the "if it isn't broke don't fix it" type of person and it seems stupid to me to go out and spend cash on a product when I have a working one at home.

>tfw i3

Im terrible with cpus I got a 1080 graphics card with an I5 3570k what should I upgrade it to??

Attached: 😂🤣😍😁😀😂😎😎😋😆😅😄😛😛😛💯💯💯💯👀🤔.jpg (1219x403, 200.16K)

they either stuff it in their closet, give it to younger sibling/friend, or try to sell it.

gift/sell it to a poor friend or family member.

I was planning on donate it
But no plans to upgrade at least until late 2021/early 2022

There's nothing wrong with ddr3 my friend :-)

How well a I5-4690K would handle VR i wonder.

If it isn't bricked I try to store it away for future hobby builds.

my man

Just replace that 750ti with some RX580 if your psu can take it or a 1060 6GB

overclock your ram

Coasting on easy mode because AMD had their head up their own ass. Finally we have some competition in the CPU/GPU market.

that's what i was considering

3600 if you are poor
5600x if you got some cash and can wait for it to be in stock.
10600k if you want something right now.

XMP is already on.

Based. This work horse has been doing good for me for 2 years now.
It will be a sad day when I switch him out for a 3060ti.
