Hey pokebros. I just got a 2DS XL and I'm about to play my first pokemon game. For some reason I never got around to play one even though my first handheld was the original gameboy.
Which one should I start with? Difficulty is not a problem, I'm mostly used to menu based battles from JRPGs. I'd like one with plenty of content, like quests and hidden stuff to find.
Preferably one from either the 3DS or if they are much superior, NDS era.

Because the series stopped being about having your own adventure through the region and more about being led on a guided tour through a series of hallways with "friendly" NPCs stopping you and sucking your dick every route and town.

I was playing Pokemon Black one day and made it to the cave before the Elite Four, then realized "I have not had fun this entire time" so stopped playing and never touched a pokemon game again.
You're supposed to grow up from playing hand-held games, but society regressed and now adults are playing mobile games more than any other kind of game.

Because it's the same fucking game every time with a new gimick mechanic and a hundred or so new unimaginative pokemon
