I'm fine with mental disorder. FishMalk worked so well in the first one because the game accounted for it. Getting a FishMalk player in actual WoD shit rarely turned out well.

Well the first game had a lot of silly responses but you usually weren't forced to use them. A lot of the responses actually seemed in line with some people I knew who had severe anxiety/depression and used humor that way to try and cope. Plus a lot of the dialogue had double meanings so it wasn't just silliness for the sake of being silly. The fact that so many people liked how Malks were in the original game but it's being seen as bad now doesn't inspire much hope either. In general I don't really like how a lot of the original game was being said to be too offensive now.

If you've played tabletop you've probably encountered one. They're the chaotic wacky party member. It's just that every time said chaotic wacky does anything, it seems more with the intent of fucking the party over than actually contributing. Old WoD Malkavians tended to gravitate towards this playstyle.

I fully admit my experiences with them in WoD colors this for me. I think they work fine in a closed narrative that takes them into consideration, though.

It has no DRM supposedly so you should be able to easily pirate it if you want to try it first. Still makes me laugh that preordering the original version makes you wait 24 hours longer to play it than people who ordered deluxe versions because pirates will be playing it before people who bought it.

I always thought it had decent gameplay especially for an RPG. Since it's on the Source engine it had really good movement and I loved being able to bunnyhop, crouch jump over enemies, strafewalking to move slightly faster, etc. Even though gunplay felt fine as long as you upgraded the firearms stat early and melee could be fun too once you figured out the combo system and combined it with Disciplines and everything else.

What the fuck was his gameplan? Honest question. Let's assume that it wasn't a trap and there really was an Antediluvian in the sarcophagus, did LaCroix actually have any chance of diablerizing them? Everything I've read indicates that if he tried, the Antediluvian would dust him by sheer accident without ever realizing he was there. Am I missing something?

If you side with Strauss at the end I think he tells you LaCroix has basically been taken over by the beast at that point. He wasn't rampaging around physically but his actions were essentially a frenzy and he wasn't thinking rationally anymore.

It depends on the gun and your firearm stat. Some guns aren't meant to be used as main weapons, they were meant to be clunky sidearms, which is why Jack tells you that he prefers melee. Once you get a shotgun it feels fine, and when you get the stronger weapons later on like the Colt Anaconda and Jaegerspas shotgun which can both be set to rapid fire, it's pretty awesome especially if you have Celerity.

I can't remember the exact details but someone did exactly that and the antediluvian just possessed the guy.

That's what would happen, but none of the characters are aware of that. Most vampires aren't even sure Antedeluvians exist, let alone what their powers are. LaCroix would be absolutely fucked if he tried it but there's no way he could know that.
