>finally build gaming PC >its just a R5 2600/GTX 1660S 1080p machine >feel fatherly affection for it >keep buying it stupid shit it doesn't need like RGB fans, AIO cooling, GPU support pillars, custom cable extensions and RGB strips
instead of spending money on memes you could save up and build a better pc user
Levi Adams
no, sounds like ex-consoletard poser shit
Gavin Morgan
Yeah i know but this is the first time ive built my own pc. My previous PC was a prebuilt from a local parts store that I tricked my parents into buying for "homework." The most intensive game ive been playing so far is Bannerlord and Shogun 2 and I'm really happy with the performance I'm getting at the moment.
There's just something different with inventing your own PC instead of just buying an entire computer from a store.
why the fuck do retards do this. You're half the reason the *$2000 is entry level pc* meme exists. you literally could have spent that money on initial upgrades fuck also welcome

Its the first time in a while that I sort of did """manual labor""". Getting a ton of boxes, fiddling with a screwdriver and getting the finished product actually made me feel like a man for the first time in forever.
Yeah yeah sounds gay but I get why boomers enjoy being handy around the house.
Xavier Gomez
32 year old boomer that loves RGB here, I love my PC looking like a gay pride float, fuck all of you.
James Green
>AIO cooling That’s where you fucked up.
Ayden Brooks
People say it's overkill for low/mid-range CPUS and is really loud but I like seeing the radiator populating the otherwise empty spot on top of the case. Also the extra 2 fans kinda helps wiith airflow I guess?
Ayden Hill
Do what you want with your money but a Noctua costs like $80, only “hotter” by 2-3 degrees Celsius compared to AIO, less parts that could break, meaning it’s more reliable and way more quieter than an AIO.
yeah man we have a built in reward mechanism for that shit. its one of the reasons males are more object focused than people focused, we have an incredible reward system for physical projects. honestly if you're not feeling manly then go and take apart a chair or something, clean/fix some bits, and put it back together. don't forget to do strongman poses in thr bathroom once in a while either, really put some oomph and feeling in to it and get the blood flowing. that's one of the simplest test raising tricks in the book
I was intimidated by this and the other cables as well for my first build a few days ago, but my case only has three front panel connections without the LEDs (lmao HDDs and I don't need power LED anyway when my mobo has the gay RGB I can't turn off without installing their malware).
I just did the same, but in a less gay way. Replaced my mobo+cpu waiting for a 3080 and while I didn't buy some gay RGB I bought stuff like a noctua dh15, a new case, new ram, new ssd and now I'm considering a new PSU despite not really "needing" any of that. Also I'm thinking of returning the noctua to buy it in black but that's $10 more expensive.

FUCK YOU Almost as bad as IDE power cable

My CPU fan stopped a while ago. Haven't bothered replacing yet and nothing bad has happ
It is pretty good entry into DIY when you have no interest in it. Most recently I reupholstered my desk chair with super thick sofa foam, it's like sitting on a cloud. Fuck spending 500-1000 bones on a meme ergonomic chair.
Lincoln Gray
>GPU support pillars Is that EVER a necessary thing?
