No, no, you don't understand. You're SUPPOSED to lose most runs

>no, no, you don't understand. You're SUPPOSED to lose most runs
How is this... fun?

the fuck is a 'run'
dark souls isnt a roguelike
when you die you try again from the last checkpoint

It makes casuals cry about it despite being an easy game

What the Christ is your ass talking about

so like a reset

I think you got the wrong game op

If there is no difficulty in the task, there is no glory in its accomplishment.

no, like loading a save

>die with Havel's set at level 90 and most bosses killed
Better start my new run! I bet I'll do a lot better this time now that my skills have improved through careful observation and practice!

>use a shield
>learn the roll and/or parry timings
>wear heavy armor
>just use pyromancies
Congratulations you won the game.

No, retard.

>you reset back to a previous point
>enemies are reset too
sounds like a reset to me

OP is making a parody of an earlier FTL thread.

It's really retarded though so it's hard to tell. Makes no sense.

no, you still have all the items you picked up, all the consumables you used are still gone. pay more attention, dying in this game is actually part of the story.
also, just take it slow, pick out one enemy at a time and you'll be fine

Attached: dark souls.jpg (1200x1910, 210.43K)

seems to me you go back to a point in the past and go from there
sounds like a reset famalam

>he doesn't find learning fun
that's why you're retarded

congratulations op, you got what you wanted

you don't go back in the past though, you die and get warped to the bonfire. every shortcut you opened is still open etc

The secret is youre supposed to git gud. You are welcome no need to reply back to me i already left the thread. Faggot.

some rouge likes have progression that persists through lives too

what's the best pve build for dark souls 1?

Stop being a contrarian retard, you keep everything and start from a checkpoint with the possibility of regaining all of your progress if youre not a retard

just like how you can regain your progression in a rouge like, exactly.

Dyslexic-user...

Min maxing and not spending levels on useless shit

best as in more fun/more suited to the intended experience

it's literally the same though

cringe retard

There is no lives system.
Losing currency doesn't make a game a roguelike.

Best game because lightning spear isn't shit.

Its off-topic, but i am playing a thief with a bandits knife and a scimitar, both+5, 32 dex. I am virtually doing no damage, got to Anor Londo. How the fuck i am going to finish the game, i dont remeber it being so hard with a claymore. It's somewhat manageable with ripostes, but on bosses it's silly.

some rouge likes don't have lives either, and the only thing you lose when you die is currency.

>Playing AC2
>Thief steals money from me
>"wow this is just like binding of Isaac"
Then they're not roguelikes

Attached: maxresdefault.jpg (1280x720, 119.97K)

there is no level randomization which is part if the defintion of a rouge like

I think most people would agree that they are rouge likes tho

If you don't like dark souls you're a faggot and should kys
#fact

that's literally what loading a save does, and it honestly does load your last checkpoint with a chance to get all your stuff back. other games and genres didn't allow players to get their stuff back so be thankful for that opportunity. i know you've gotten your stuff back plenty of times and you've rejoiced over it only to die again like a fag LOL

Attached: 1581208816770.jpg (163x188, 12.35K)

it's literally what most rouge likes do too lol

what roguelikes are you referring to then

you are a brain damaged retard

like all of the most popular ones released in the last couple o years lol

I like it, I simply can't be arsed to make the investment required to finish one.

give me one example

the dead cells one

No, the game does not delete your save when you die too much in hollow form.
That feature was cut sadly.

you lose more than currency when you die

>Dark Souls games are basically just 20 hour action RPG's that even bottom barrel youtuber trash can crank out despite their difficulty
>Can't invest time into it

So, you just don't play any games except arcade/mobile shit, right?

yeah, it's a harder rouge like than dark souls

Attached: 1605716224188.gif (698x1587, 839.68K)

>+5
>32 dex
Sounds retarded. You should definitely have had your weapon upgraded beyond that and you should have pumped other important stats at that point in the game.

It takes 20 hours to finish a souls game, even if you're bad.
DS1 is especially easy because poise.

Sup Ross, still playing with cheats and still getting owned by the game?

because slash does bad damage to armored enemies, get a weapon with strike or standard damage

Also get it to +10

who would win
999 poise chosen undead or 29.9% load rolling ashen one?

>point out the obvious unfun gameplay gameplay of rouge likes
>the dark souls fan come out the wood work
lol didn't know it was this easy to trigger you guys lol it's just bad game design is all

>Get a strike weapon

Fuck, that reminds me how the giant club was basically the best weapon in DS2. Every fucking faggot has strike weakness. Also the dragon blade equivalent is absolute shit because everyone also has flame resistance.

Which is exactly why Dark Souls is shit.

@533414085
stop shitposting lol

I'm playing through DS1 right now. I've dabbled before but never finished it, this time it feels like it's really clicking.
How did they manage such incredible interconnected level design? The feeling of adventuring through a mysterious land is so strong, I can't think of many other titles that can compare. Shame later Fromsoft games are more like individual zones you warp to.

Craftman's hammer is one of the best Strike weapons in DS2, it has the broadsworf moveset, great range and wide swings instead of the slow vertical attacks of maces.
It also upgrades with twinkling so you can get it to +3+/4 fast if you know where to look and that's the equivalent of +6/+8 for standard weapons.
This thing will destroy lord soul bosses in like 10 hits.

I used it on many PvP focused characters just to roflstomp the main game and get to the DLCs in like 1 hour.

Ashina Castle from Sekiro is also like that.

Heroic Knight Gone Crazy vs A drunken fat hobo.
