assassins creed origins and odyssey

nier

BotW

Some of the Tomb Raider and Uncharted titles naturally.

Europe in 2020

XD

weird, I was gonna make a thread with this pic and ask for games that feel like Ueda's work
I guess Ico and Journey, Kenshi in a way but it's not the same in terms of color and tone

dark souls probably.

Is this going to be another Ueda development hell situation?

Journey

he got full funding by epic, should be good

Metroid Prime

Dark Souls 1, 2 and 3.

Demon and Dark Souls games. Especially Dark Souls 2. You want a game with few npcs and mostly empty, hostile locales.

Emulate Etrian Odyssey games.

Genshin Impact, kind of, if you like reading. Nier too.

Fallout 1

Dead Money DLC for New Vegas.

They're kinda shit for that though? I dunno what is it with you EO fags and recommending your game in the wrong situations, your game is a fucking dungeon crawler with very samey tilesets, sure there's the draw your own map mechanic but I can almost guarantee it's the very antithesis of what people would be looking for if they wanted something similar to SoTC for instance

It's strange because Ueda seems to capture a very shamanistic yet grandiose civilisation in his games. The only similiar feel I've gotten is from Monster Hunter's Tower map
Picrel seems very similiar to what I had in mind, thanks

I've played 1 and 3, will get DeS eventually. New Londo Ruins, Profaned Capital and Yahargul felt kinda similiar

Nier but it's weird because it's our civilization

both suck and have 0 artistic value (which is what OP is looking for)

How do you know what OP is looking for?

Pretty much, no idea how he could recommend it in a thread like this one.

I've been doing some autistic deep diving on his next project
for TLG he originally wanted to make the protagonist a girl:

>"The Trico is a very powerful creature. If we'd had a beefed-up, powerful hero, it would have thrown off the balance a little bit, so the design naturally drove me to create an adolescent female character who was light on her feet."
>"But in the end I decided a boy would have a little more grip to climb the Trico. Another problem is that girls tend to wear skirts, and The Last Guardian features a lot of climbing..."

his games are all about contrast, two characters, which combined with your pic makes it seem like it's the pig/troll and the girl, although she's wearing a skirt and looks just like Yorda and Mono, so who knows
one of the photoshop layers for the image was also 'Beauty and The Beast 2018', and he also said he was designed by John Bauer illustrations for TLG, which I'll post in a minute

another shot of the next project, shows the beast lying on its back and the girl

>I asked if there was a real reason that the characters in his games are male.
>Ueda: "But another reason is that -- if you particularly focus on this title -- there is a scene where the boy is on the back of the Trico, for example, or climbing the wall. If we replaced the boy with a girl of the same age, she probably wouldn't be physically strong enough to do such movements."
>Ueda continued to explain that another reason was more technical in nature. This is where the translator had some difficulty conveying Ueda's answer to me, but essentially he explained that with the character so small on the screen, a "girly look" would be difficult to convey, i.e. long hair and a skirt. I'm sure my troubled expression was noticeable, and Ueda asked me a question: "Would you have preferred a girl?"
>After more translating, Ueda concluded, "Yes, one is a more technical reason, because it's not easy for girls to make acrobatic movements -- I think it's unrealistic. Maybe that's just my personal [opinion]. But also, many of the players are male, and it's easy for them to use the boy character."

Marlon Brigs

there's this art, too, which is unrelated to any previous projects. it's hard to say whether it'll be a female or male protag; at this point it seems female, but considering her design and his comments, it seems unlikely
I promise I'm not a schizo I just like Ueda's games and dislike female protagonists

I'm kind of hoping for a reversal of the norm and we get to play the big beast. That would be pretty cool for exploration and interaction, having to protect the squishy character who has no (presumably) no powers.

TP exudes that feeling

Thanks for this info user. I'm super into his games too but not heard anything about this new project.

Journey is pretty good for that, though it's short as hell.
