Actually the first time I've seen this type of thread in all my years. Having a sound system is such a huge difference. Subwoofer and surround sound change your games, because you literally feel the sounds around you. That's the only thing I miss about my dad, was his badass home entertainment system.

My sound card has both mic in and line in, which I use for headset microphone and external sound input. However, the external sound input through the line in generates audible noise which bugs me. Is there a way to tell Windows to filter out the noise or do I have to deal with the humming it?
