>Best Yakuza game
I liked Kiwami 2 more. The dragon engine is great for beat em ups.

>Mirror Face

shits so stupid

cohhcarnage the streamer just finished it and stated bluntly that it's his favorite, and he's played 0-6 and Judgment.

he said that Ichiban is amazing and how the character change was necessary because "you couldn't do a game like this with Kiryu" and said that it felt like the rest of the series felt like it was made specifically for this game's conclusion

>watch game on twitch
>never have to actually buy the game

Just started. Is this guy an incel or what?

Sequel bait.

Finished it last night
Gonna finish up kart minigames and my remaining substories and achievement
Easy game of the year with absolutely no contest and possibly one of the best entries to date in the series. Turn based turned out to be fun but it needs a lot of tweaking, especially regarding the engine and bloated health bosses like Tendo who end up not being enjoyable
Ichiban is a great protagonist.

No, the incel character appears later on
He's a beta edgelord with a massive inferiority complex

Tendo was especially horrible for me because I think my game was bugged. Despite every source I could find saying that he was weak to electricity, he resisted that, too.

>weak to electricity
I have no clue why they bothered with elemental weaknesses in this game because half the time they dont fucking work
Ichi's hero bat supposedly gives him electric attacks but Hero has 0 of those and it doesn't turn his other attacks or abilities into electric damage unlike Saeko with her ice cream mic.
It's garbage and it needs reworking, not to mention how few elemental skills there are
Like for kiryu I levelled hostess Eri and Host on the boys and just spammed the same 2 ice skills to slowly chip away at his health, it wasn't exactly fun.

it's most likely an afterthough. cut / blunt / magic / fire kinda work because it's the base party. I still wonder why vergil isn't ice and zhao electric

The game would have been even better if it gave us the option to move our characters
Also to increase or reduce our party, fed up of always playing as a team of 4

I'm really hoping that they ask Atlus for help with the battle system next game. This is a really good base for a company that's never done an RPG before, but it needs some tweaking.

is kawami and kawami 2 as good as zero?

I'm on chapter 10 of zero right now and loving it. its my first yakuza game

I feel like I'm the only one who likes that you can't move your characters in battle. It gives the battle system a distinct feel. It also ensures that you can't always just spam the same move every single time and that sometimes, other moves are a better option. I'd probably get tired of this game really quick if I could just move to a group of enemies and nuke them. I'm not saying that this game requires much thought, but it would require less if you could move.

>playing nu yakuza
>playing turn based shit
>nu yakuza best at anything

LMAO

I do think the battle system is fine, stuff like elemental weaknesses is just a tweak you can do in 10 minutes by just changing the element of the skill, they probably didn't think about it because it's their first time.
And since it's an easy fix they'll do it for their next game, easy and cheap improvement

>is kawami and kawami 2 as good as zero?

No. Kiwami 1 is pretty decent.
Kiwami 2 is shit. Not sure why people the Yakuza community praises the story so much.
The main issue is that Yakuza 0 set the bar so damn high.

Why do people claim to be fans of a series while also hating half the games in it? It's like people saying "I'm a huge Pokemon fan. By the way, everything past gen 2 doesn't exist".

Just finished Chapter 1. I'm confused as to why Ichi was banished from his clan?

what exactly is wrong with that statement? pokemon went to shit after gen 2, actually it had already started in gen 2 but the garbage designs were still the exception and not the norm

To prevent a war. He was banished "starting one month ago" so that way the Arakawa family could say that he wasn't one of their guys anymore.

Gotcha. Thank you.

The games didn't actually start going to shit until they switched to 3D, but that's a discussion for another thread. My point is that people who say that aren't fans of Pokemon anymore since they outright hate 80% of the franchise. They're just nostalgia-addicted millennials who really liked a few games they played as a kid.

lads..
