Survey: Gamers frustrated by slow download speeds
If only we had decent internet speeds in the US. The price to pay for not being a city slicker faggot I suppose.
Maybe the internet speeds aren't the problem, and developers shitting out 200+ GB games are.
I don't have the issue with file size that alot of people have. Storage is getting bigger, faster and cheaper. Though in the extreme range like Modern Warfare at damn near 200 gb there really is no excuse.
More news at 9!
>expert level gamers
Can't wait until we find out Sony is throttling speeds again.
Same. I have 3mbs connection, and I'm less than 5 miles from town.
it took me 2 weeks to download GTA5
Two fucking weeks for 90 Gbs
I'm so done
>"expert level"
>Can't wait until we find out Sony is throttling speeds again.
More like ISPs such as Comcast
It's pretty crazy how most people now prefer digital over physical games. I think in a gen or two everything will be digital only. We're getting more soulless by the day
>I think in a gen or two everything will be digital only
YOU WILL OWN NOTHING
AND THAT'S A GOOD THING
You already need to download the real game when you put a disc in. Might as well just download without the shelf frisbee. Physical isn't what it used to be.
Try again. I downloaded that recent 11 gb Cold War update in one minute because I was hitting 500 Mbps with my wired connection, and on that EXACT SAME WIRE, I was barely hitting 40 Mbps on my PS4. Sony sucks fucking dick with anything data related.
Cold War update on my Xbone*
>63% of gamers now prefer to download their games
Depressing.
Sounds like your ISP has a bonding issue. I max my gigabit connection on my PS5.
The download speeds on PSN are an absolute travesty. It's not even my connection that's the problem because if I torrent a file it'll go 10 times faster that the snail's pace PSN goes at.
>NOOOOOOOOOO WTF I HAVE TO WAIT 44 MINUTES FOR THE GAME
Yeah that's true. I just really love looking at the boxarts and going through the manuals whenever there even is one nowadays. Makes me appreciate the game more and makes me more excited to play it.
Physical copies are also cheaper, usually there's a 15€ difference. I'm not sure if it will still be the case with the PS5 and 80€ games.
We are at the halfway point with day 1 patches that are nearly the same size as the game cause they can make a function game on disk any more.
>You already need to download the real game when you put a disc in.
This is an Xbox problem. PS5 still ships games on the plastic.
>start download
>play another game in the meantime
>another game gets so fun and entertaining that i decide to play the new game after i wake up tomorrow
Manuals are just a sheet of paper with the controls and some ads on the back now
Well, I havent found one. Even Gravity Rush Remastered, which should be "the definitive version" had a patch.
>It only happens with good games you only play shit lmao
Alright.
>44 minutes
I guess I'm an old man because I still think of downloading 50+ gigs in only 44 minutes as refreshing after spending days trying to download 400mb avi porn
It's faster for me to unhook my shit, drive to my grandma's house in town, download all my shit, and then come home then it is to just download it at home.
i remember downloading the FF8 trailer
it took an hour for like 1 minute of video in 160p
everything is progressing as it's always been. Storage sizes go up, file sizes go up
would you be saying the same back when games started to be over a whopping 1.44 MB?
the only thing that isn't progressing with the rate of everything else is isp speeds (depending on where you are of course)
