Why don't games have vibrant color palettes anymore?

I mean, the less colorful era was on PS360, there are a lot of vibrant and colorful games out there, especially with Nintendo games and consoles. Maybe you aren't playing the games that you should be playing now.

Overwatch

there are plenty of vibrant games, but in a realistic setting it just looks like shit, just like your picture

i feel you OP
the current standard for color are those disgusting 3d models that look like play doh

i just played a bit of hades, super vibrant

You mean this isn't vibrant enough for you?

This still looks like it has a piss filter overlaid.

>in a realistic setting it just looks like shit
But real life looks the most beautiful when it's colorful.

Nope, a few eye cancer saturated accents do not a colorful game make. It's a brown muddy mess underneath.

cod but with bright and standing colors is my fav thing to me honestly

Because washed out hues, color grading and crunched blacks are a sign of maturity in taste. Apparently.

Looks exactly like Far Cry 3

Doom Eternal has, and it looks like ass.

Modern games are always so "hazy", like there is a layer of fog hovering 10 feet away from you at all times.

Destiny, No Man's Sky, Star Wars Squadrons, Sea of Thieves, Hades and Cyberpunk 2077 are all colorful, so that's certainly not true of all games

Because apparently real life doesn't have color. Fucking game devs probably go outside as much as their consumers.

That is the effect of TAA.

No it's not

It's Temporal Anti-Aliasing, pretty much KY Jelly smeared all over the screen.

/thread

holy SOUL

The game is essentially aiming to be virtua racing with a SCUD race skin.

Don't do this, I don't want Zig Forums to use this game for shitposting

But why?
Is it the feeling those pictures give off that they look like someone made them with passion and looks more like a hobby project rather than a big industry product?

imagine putting that much effort into bait images

this can't be true

overbloom became out of style a long time ago

muh realism that's why.

Remember: style > realism, every time.

Far Cry 1 on PC

Go away fake gamer. That's 100% not Crysis.

Crysis looks like this.

>realistic setting it just looks like shit, just like your picture
>t. canadian

what do you mean, crysis has been the subject of Zig Forums shitposting ever since it came out
"why can't modern games look as good as crysis 1?!?!?!?" threads have been a Zig Forums staple for years now
