Now that I think about it a bit, I think that, if he actually applied himself, Rinnosuke would be a good fit for Keiki. Not just because they're both male, but because they're both very intelligent and very cunning. Rinnosuke is also a highly talented craftsman and probably knows a shitton of magic/ could probably make a shitton of magical items for himself to use. The only thing holding him back is his own distaste for fighting and his inability(?) to use danmaku. And also his tendency to make up rationalizations on the fly that don't really hold weight. Basically, if Rinnosuke was less of a lazy dumbass, he'd be a real force to be reckoned with.
