Be honest, TWEWY would be better off without a sequel, sequel bait, or any attempts to become its own ongoing series

the new game will introduce LGBTQIA+ folx to the game, which make the sequel more than worth it IMO

...

nah brutha nah

Eh Im not excited for the sequel at all, (MC is fujobait there is a literal fujo in the party and bringing back math guy lessens his role in the first and its pandering and shows they are out of ideas also the combat looks bad) but Im not one of those people that think an old good thing can be retroactively damage by later stuff so whatever.
And who knows maybe neo will manage to be good

why? TWEWY was a perfect stand alone story that didn't try to rely on anything to further expand its universe until the switch port's fanfic section. All the characters had their stories complete without any loose ends, the world building stuff was never meant to go too deep into because the game is character driven, not world driven.
I love this game to death, it's one of my favorites ever but I genuinely feel the hype of NEO TWEWY is peak bugman-tier shit.
>bringing back math guy lessens his role in the first
I agree, I can only see his appearance being baseless fanservice.
>And who knows maybe neo will manage to be good
I'd love to be wrong but I can't imagine it being anything more than just rehashing TWEWY's original story but maybe with another sequel bait teaser at the end or some tie in to Kingdom Hearts

I know how you feel but at this point just try not to let it bother you too much, when you go into threads of people hyped for something and you start trying to say its bad and they shouldnt be excited you just look like an asshole and there is no winning in that scenario.
SE is bringing back everything to fund FF16 it seems even live a live is coming back, we cant do much but hope they dont suck too much

>we cant do much but hope they dont suck too much
You're right, that's all we can do at this point. I'd just hate to see a perfect standalone game try to get some overarching plot. You rarely see games like TWEWY nowadays and it sucks to see it fall victim to it

Forget everything about the sequel and don't play it, gatekeeping faggot.

enjoy your soulless cash grab sequel, bug man

>bug-man
Continue to seethe at other people enjoying things you don't, sad pathetic alt-right incel.

Keep consooming all you want, bro. Your wall of funko pops surrounding your frameless bed won't make the games you buy any better

Go back to shitposting in the FF7R threads.

Now that I see this again I don't get why retards keep saying "HURR NOMURA IS GOING TO CONNECT THE TWO" Yozora's Quadratum isn't anything like Neku's Shibuya stylisticly or thematically outside of sharing the 104 building in place of 109, we've also seen it interoperate parts of Shinjuku so it seems more likely to be based around Tokyo itself. If anything it's an FF15 take on Shibuya.

Probably. I think a big part of why the first game was so good was because of Neku being emo and eventually coming around, and I don't see how the new game will do something interesting but different. I mean, the whole message of "the world ends with you, open your horizons" is kinda tailor-made for Neku.

I'm somewhat excited, and I'm always glad when somewhat underrated old games get a sequel, but I so far it's not very impressive to me. The characters don't seem interesting to me and the switch to 3D environments is weird.

If it's gonna end up being bad I just forget it's existence, like I did with Okamiden.

I have to agree with you, but there was really no going back after they chased the smartphone market with the port, at least I think if they did go down this path final remix and twewy 2 at least redeems their mistake a little

The series was a standalone with a very solid ending. The ports/definitive editions that shoehorn in sequelbait weren't needed but hey, at least those people who've been begging for over a decade can finally get what they wanted: kingdom hearts flavored twewy by modern SE.

I cant wait for the endgame to be separate as dlc at launch and have those unlockable sequel bait cutscenes stingers that everybody love so much

As said, the vanilla game was good enough, so a shitty forced sequel wont retroactively take away the enjoyment I had with it.

TWEWY2 won't be able to ruin the amazing experience I had with TWEWY1. Hell, it'll probably even be a good experience on its own, so I'm excited for the sequel. I don't get why you guys are so whiny and pessimistic, especially when you have it so easy. I know a ton of fanbases that would truly appreciate a sequel, like pic related.

Can one of you TWEWY nerds tell me if the Switch port is good and worth it?

Play it on DS

The best way to experience twewy is on a double screen(ds/3ds), the easiet way to currently do it is to get an old 3ds and just mod it to play ds roms.

The switch remaster definitely looks better with HD sprites but the revamped controls aren't as good as the DS.

I just hope it's good.

The game looks good.

It's going to have a good soundtrack since Ishimoto is behind it, the battle system looks unique and experimental in the 4 player combo based system with player switching to build up sync, the overworld looks nice, the character portraits are dead on to the original and I'm enjoying how it's panelled like a manga even moreso than the original.

The original devs have been wanting to make a continuation since forever. I'm glad they're getting their chance, and if it's not as good as the original, who cares.

I'm just glad they got a new cast so that even if the old ones cameo it'll just be a cameo

Even if the sequel turns out shit, it won't ruin the experience I've had with the original. Plus, the game looks interesting enough to me so I'm pretty hyped to check it out.

I tend not to keep my expectations too high given this type of industry but if the game manages to have a story, gameplay, and soundtrack even half as good as twewy1 then I'll be satisfied.

I'm actually content with the vanilla's conclusion and wouldnt have mind if it didnt ever get continued. But unlike valkyrie profile, twewy was teased for a literal decades, making the demand even higher

From what I've seen in the trailer, the style is still there, even though many dont like the transition to 3d, I think it looks nice, the new battle system is still up in the air for me, but hearing that the composer is the same is reassuring

I fail to see how it could've transitioned to 3D much better to be honest. Unless people thought it was going to get a ginormous budget.
The only area I think majorly needs touched up is how empty the battle arenas feel.

I agree, not every 3d jrpg needs to be on the scale of SE's first party and what we've seen is pretty ideal with the overworld being so well stylized.

From what I've heard around, many who dont like the transition preferred 2D because they see it as a part of the series identity just like it's character artstyles and the double battle system of the first game.

It's almost on par with the DS version if you play Solo Co-op mode. I'd say it's more fitting since the DS version has you and your partner fighting the same enemies in different dimensions while the Switch version has you with your partner fighting side by side.

Yeah, TWEWY was never really a high budget series. The reason the game on DS looked as good as it did was due to the aesthetics and art direction.
