He didn't post on Nsider back in the day
>"We here at Nintendo Power are working on even bigger plans for an online community"
What a bold lie. These faggota didn't do shit. It was pretty evident that the arrival of the Wii heralded a new era for Nintendo where casuals were king, so they had to shut down the neckbeard outlets like forums so grandma Janice wouldn't get offended. The fans had to pitch in together to make a bootlegged sequel called NSider2.
miiverse was better
>NSider2
That's dead now, NSFCD is still alive though
Less than a year after this Nintendo even sold Nintendo Power to Future
Such a shitty forum, but I kinda miss it.
How the fuck is NSFCD still going?
Silverhawk has been dedicated I guess
What a legend, I haven't posted there in just about a decade.
>tfw STILL associate Viewtiful Joe with Noishe after all these years
Who was the Mr. L poster again? Every time I see that guy in SPM I can only think of NSider/NSFCD
Forums obviously had plenty of problems but they were sure as shit better than the social media hellscape we're living in today.
I legitimately think the biggest difference between oldfags and newfags on this site is whether they posted on forums or Twitter/Facebook etc. Forums required you to actually learn how to type and discuss with other people outside of half-assed retorts. Sites like Twitter by their very nature encourage shitposting.
Shit, I can't remember his name but know who you're talking about
I really miss forums. I went to my country's Nintendo forums, and it was such a huge thing. The Internet seems to have way less content now than it did in the 2000s. You used to be able to find multiple forums about the same thing in your own language.
On one of the forums I went to, someone made a workaround by replacing the numbers with letters. The admins never did anything against it, I guess they too were unhappy about Nintendo's policy.
NOA's forum was super aggressive with its moderation, but there were cliques that were essentially above the rules.
This describes every forum in existence
It's the reason most died
Nsider forums were my first online community. I didn't post enough to become to a regular but it was the beginning of the end of my internet addiction for sure.
I didn't go to NOA, I went to my country's nintendo forums.
The mods and admins were cool. They once did a prank where they made everything pink, and after the Sony E3 they added a wordfilter that turned mentions of Playstation into Riiidge Raaacer.
And there seemed to have been some really cool community things by the people on the forum. They used to have a drawing that they sent in the mail between different members, and each added a bit to the drawing. Great community.
There were also some old Flash animations from before my time which told ancient forum lore.
And I remember the constant complaints about the deletion of the PSO forum, which had been really popular amongst the members.
>>He never traded friend codes despite it being against the rules
Yeah. I made a lot of friends playing Metroid Prime Hunters. Sometimes we even used to shoot our FCs onto the wall of Combat Hall.
Power On's YLYL thread was how I found out about Zig Forums
My favorite memory of NSider was when someone made a thread called "Look, it's me naked" and I clicked it thinking it was gonna be some stupid joke but then it was actually a pretty good nude of some girl that stayed up for a few minutes longer than it should've.
nice
HEY! I did post on Nsider. That was my original internet home. Then I went through various Kingdom Hearts fansites before I learned about Zig Forums.
Same
Man and all I remember was "Jet Black Wii"
>He didn't post on Nsider back in the day
BUT I DID
>Camp Hyrule
I think I went one year for a very brief time. I mainly posted in the Trivia chat channel. I remember another kid had the same birthday as me.
It was the real one and not the shitty one in 2007 right
Yes. I mainly posted on NSider during the spring/summer of 2004.
Did anyone ever play NFreak's attack/defense game?
Those Wii controller speculation threads were some damn fine autism
Is this archived anywhere
I actually made shitty sprite comics on the Mario board that were moderatley popular until I killed it with a dark and edgy end. Sprite comics are one thing that's good to have died in the 2000s.
>He never traded friend codes despite it being against the rules
That was against the rules? That's retarded, but sounds like classic Nintendo. I posted there for a while but I totally forgot about that.
Yep, and you had to post 56k warnings
